Hey, time for a technical bit in the middle of these flying insults.
People need to be careful referring to a "Torsen" diff, the term Torsen is a trademark and make more than one type of differential (a bit like calling a vacuum cleaner a hoover)
The Torsen diff fitted to the Supra (and the Soarer) from '96 is a T-2 Torsen diff (info from Torsen website) which is based on an open differential; this means it is a straight torque multiplier, and if the opposing wheel has no traction (e.g. wheel off the ground) the wheel on the ground will receive zero torque.
The T-2R Torsen differential, which is not fitted to any road car as original equipment (only a couple of years old) does not suffer from this problem, and there are retrofit kits for a few cars... but not Toyotas.
Didn't read the rest of it properly, but I think it means Mycroft was right. However, Mycroft couldn't explain something in laymans terms if his life depended on it, so for those who don't work in automotive engineering, this website gives a pretty good overview.

So, we have a 'mystery man' who doesn't understand Torsen diffs, despite being told on his own forum by me a year ago [if you were there] and 2 or 3 times on here... not only does our mystery man fail to accept the truth once or twice but then carries on propounding his lack of knowledge for all to see... all the while the one person who has told him the truth is told that he knows nothing... that is the situation here.

Who's the mystery man , is it me , how the diff works doesnt bother me , all i know is it WORKS , if you cant control it thats your problem . Mycroft you may well be correct in your postings , much as it pains me i must admit that a lot of what you post does have its merits and you do appear to be quite knowledgeable in a lot of fields , the trouble is you are stuck so far up your own **** that i fear you cannot be saved , walk to the light , buy a Supra and you will be exited by something other than the net
