Gus, we can have a go over the weekend if you want. Before I lose my touch! 10m of tape is plenty. Just keep the coffee coming...

Steve, your car must smell like mine now. There's nothing like the smell of Optimax in the morning!

Abby, Third time lucky? You've watched me change enough exhaust bits now so I think you've served your apprenticeship

Mark,
Downpipe hasnt arrived yet from hayward&scott and the exhaust wrap will not be in stock until next week, so I will have to wait until next week. Im in a car school for work so I might even start mid week cos I woulnt need the car during the week.

Mark, Gussy, Abbeylad, Rusty and all

Please help a village idiot from the carlisle area about full de-cat...for my MY01

In my tiny mind I have the exhaust gasses leaving my engine and going into the UP PIPE with a cat in place...hitting the turbo and then going into the DOWN PIPE and going into yet another cat before dissapearing under the drivers seat area.

I have the centre cat removed and also the resonator so the next thing along the pipe is the Magnex back box (shiny with solvol autosol-thanks Rusty).

To remove the cat restrictions I would therefor need (in my tiny mind) a new UP PIPE and a new DOWN PIPE which would be simple pipes...as available from Hayward and Scott.

Does this make sense??

Thanks for your patience

Midlife...

Hey Midlife, you're catching on! Thats right. You need an up pipe and downpipe to remove the other two kitty's in your system.

ps If you think your mind is small, then how much smaller are ours, the sad men that we are?

Thanks for the quick reply, and on a Friday night...my other half is watching Midsomer Murders with that John Netles bloke....if you think Scooby ownership is sad that has GOT to be ten times worse !!

I'll just look at Haywood and Scott website if they have one

Silly question really but how much was the downpipe from H&S, this seems to be the pricier of the two!!

Cheers

Gussy

Thanks for the mail....about £220 for the H&S downpipe looks pretty standard.

Ian at Stan Palmer sorted me out with the TeK2 no problem (back of the net as Gareth Cheesman would say) and I am waiting for SECS to be fited there as well.......I'll drop him a line about de-cats and see whats on offer.

Cheers

Unhappy

i have a feeling i`m not gonna be able to get away with the noise my afterburner`s making (i.e. moaning neighbours) has anyone any thoughts on the magnex resonated centre section? (£115). Will it have much effect on power? Don`t really want to get rid of the afterburner coz it looks good, or should i just sent it back to scoobyworld and get that new Ninja box?

Thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Ab

Abby,
Either 1. Move out into the back of beyond where nobody can hear you.
2. supply your neighbours with ear defenders.

3. If all else fails kill them.

just a thought!!!

nah nothings been said yet but one of them is a right **** so i`ve no doubt he`ll have a twine about it when i set of for work at 5:15 on wednesday morning. Bollox to them! i put a post in GENERAL about noise levels and it seems if anyone complains i`ll get sent to an MOT station to have the noise level checked, so i won`t get a resonated centre until i have to, but the afterburner stays!!!!!!!! and thats final!!!!!!!

Cheers

Thanks for the help...strange how this thread had become a bit of a cult....quite a few people call me that.

Still on the trail of an de-cat up-down pipe for my MY02...I'll give "Wendy" at Scobyworld a go as suggested...

Midlife...

Still have the napkin
