Yes we can and do, had trouble getting the long list of pictures etc. up on the board as the AutoMeter site was down when Lee tried to do it.

They will be there this week.

Mike.

If you have always sold AutoMeter gauges, why did you ask me where I got them from?
You would have known that Reel Steel were the sole importers.
Oh, I have the angle rings but they need an even larger hole to fit, so they don't go in the standard Subaru Pod which is too small for the gauges really.
Let me know if they fit in your Pod though.

Firstly, sorry Stef for taking this thread off track.
The interior looks superb.

Secondly.
Scoobymania have only done good things to my car. They did not break my gauge.
My gauge was not broken.
My pod was broken.
My pod was sourced from Japan as I could not find one over here at the time.
Therefore I had to pay 190gbp for a HKS pod imported from Japan.
60gbp for B-trim to match it to the interior.
And then the pod was broken when TDi had to recalibrate the boost gauge after it had all been fitted.
Mike, please let me know when you have completed your testing.
If the pod sits low it will look absolutely superb. And I will have one.

Cool

Sure Ian, no problem.

Stef, (Ringmeister)we have sold AutoMeter from day one, I asked how much you had paid (IIRC) not where you got them from.

Yes, I know they are the UK importers; we have been purchasing from Australia..... always looking for the best deal so that we can keep prices down for consumers.

Angle rings should fit, it is something we had considered in our initial design brief.

Question

Congratulations Stef! Very nice interiors indeed!

Could you post the dials wiring diagrams that you use in your car (where in the motor you connect the dials to, etc)? I'm asking because I'm thinking in buying the dials and pod and do the installation by myself!

Another thing: How do you achived the nice aluminium look in your panels and console?

Regards,

Gustavo

Gustavos.
The gauges all come with diagrams.
My boost gauge is plumbed into the spare outlet on the manifold.
My oil pressure gauge is plumbed into the same place as the current sender, underneath the alternator.
These two are relatively easy to fit.
My oil temp gauge is wired into a sender that has been welded into my sump.
The a/f ratio gauge connects into the loom on the ecu side of the connector for the lamda sensor.
All of them are wired into my stereo for power.
If you feel you want to fit them yourself, go ahead!
My ally dash kit is from Carnoisseur on 01234 304305.

Hiya Stef,

Do you know if sticky Pete could make up another of your faceplates? Sounds like he could be onto a winner, so it may be worth making a few?

Given that the boost and oil pressure sound relatively easy to fit, I could attempt them myself. Any clues as to the oil pressure fitting, like how to do it? Or is it simple?

Gustavos.
See the thread in General.

Chiark.
I'll ask him. I hope to actually get a pod that fits them properly when a decent one becomes available though.
Regarding the oil pressure, the sender is behind the alternator, so only attempt it if you are confident you can re-fit the fan belt tight enough. It's a simple case of removing the existing sender and plumbing in the new one, though you may have to get an adaptor as the Auto-Meter stuff comes with US threads. We had to re-thread it.

Stef,

the interior looks great. I plan to upgrade the interior onmy MY00 with the aluminium kit. Two appear to be avaliable. One from Graham Goode for £228 and the one you have bought which costs £120. I cannot understand why there is such a big difference, are you happy with the quality of them? Also how did you get them fitted? I imagine it is a tricky job?
Thanks

Cool

Folks, Is there anywhere that will supply and fix the dial as they look fantastic.
Or is it a doddle to do it yourself?

Cheers

Brooks (if you're still there? ).
Sorry for the late reply, but it took me 90 mins to fit with a hairdryer.
