ok, calm down, calm down, the price is £82 fitted and balanced for the "old" f1, the gsd2,NOT THE GSD3 that this thread is on about.
after some further research though, the only difference between the 2 is that the G3 is a bit harder wearing, and wont melt if you go on track.
as I will now have 2 sets of tyres (the new ones on the car, and the toyo's that are coming off) I can fit the toyos if I go on track again, which I probably will as it was great fun.
Let me know if you still want some, they are from SELECTA TYRE in BREDBURY here
DONT PHONE THEM, get in touch with me via email on my profile, and I will phone tomorrow afternoon, when I get up.
Mine are on order, and expected in on tuesday, the guy who did the price for me is off this week though.

Question

had my proxes replaced with F1's recently (couple of k ago)(proxes lasted about 16K !! & I dont exactly take it thay easy!) and they are good, specially turn in.
the problem I have, is the back end seems to be very un-setled now.
it moves alot & feels twitchy - usually after turn-in, the back seems to respond slowly, then LEARCH into line, giving a very weird / soggy sensation at the back end.
Have check the tyre pressures (34/32) and they are ok. gona try varying them & see what's what .. but could this just be the fact that I now have some rubber blocks, instead of a nice slick ?!?

Steve

Got them fitted today at Supatyres - They got them in within an hour. £400 Fully sorted incl VAT.

Have just been out for a spin and cannot believe the difference in feel of the car. LOVELY. Grips like a vice, Sweet handling and quiet.

Just my opinion but if you are due to change your tyres anytime soon and can afford the £ do all four corners and stick the old ones in the garage as backup runners (now have 3)

Can't wait to really test it out without a boot load of shopping from Safeway. It takes forever for the stella to calm down.

jods, i got my original 4 for closer to £80 i think from cross roads garage, not too sure what the situation is with them now.

Then got them fitted at JN Tyres in Swallowfields

Supatyres dented my scoob, I was at Garys valeters (cheating i know) and they chucked a tyre down the stairs and it flew straight out the door and into the side of my rear door denting it. To thier credit they paid for the dent man to come and fix the car tho, back to new and he took some others out too

Was a while ago now! You going to any meets soon mate, would be nice to meet up again, lets hope we dont meet in any snow this year tho!!!

Hi UHF - Just goes to show what can happen if you rush into things eh.! could have saved myself £80 (Less fitting costs ?? £30 / £40 ??) My front two were bald on both edges so could have been a bit dodgy if I got a pull. Sorted now though. One problem mentioned by the guys at SupaTyres was that my tracking was out and seized. They've sprayed it up with WD40 and said to go back in a couple of days. Hopefully they'll be able to sort it out. Any idea how much it costs to strip down tracking ??

I'm keeping an eye on the meets and hope to come along to one before too long. Just got a few things going on at mo (like trying to find a job AND keep hold of the scoob at the same time. Difficult but not impossible )

Chin up and lets hope we don't get stuck like last time.

Mark

Does the bumpsteer mod apply to MY02's, or just the older cars?

The reason i ask is that i tend to be heavy on brakes, and have just noticed that the inner shoulders of my front tyres are very worn. From SiPie's description of the problem with bumpsteer on page 2, it sounds like it might be what's eaten my tyres.

I feel a trip to a local Goodyear establishment coming on...

Allignment would be my first step mate. Sounds like it's well out and should help your handling a bit if you get it done properly. Either that or you are just enjoying those roundabouts too much

Cheers
Si

The roundabouts have had a nibble at the outer edges... just not as much as something has eaten the inner edges.

Protyre Glos. good service from the guys.

MY00 old tyres worn on inner shoulders at the front. seems a common problem.

I got them, I got them!

I know you are supposed to bed them in or whatever for a 100 miles or so but I felt the difference immediately! (partly due to the fact that my front P6000 were almost slicks!).

I will report again after a week or so of fun!
