I just want to say what i think of the new F1 GS3,
They are not as grippy/responsive in the try as the old F1 GS2,But much better in the wet.
They will last over twise the miles as the old ones!...
They new GS3 are totally silent, the old GS2 could be noisy ,nut not all of them.
All the costumers i have sold them to are really happy with them,
Ask for the toyo TS-1,they are no match for the GS3 ,and they are noisy

Don't want to put a damper on the F1 euphoria but I've noticed in the last 1,000 miles that they are tram-lining a bit more than I'd initially noticed now that they are wearing down a bit
However this in no way detracts from the overall opinion I have of these tyres
Damned fine

I find that you can set the car up better for corners with TOYO's? i find the car responds much better to lift off than on the potenzas which i found tramlined for fun!!!!!! I know they don't have the ultimate grip of F1's but sometimes you can go quicker letting the car tail out slightly.

I've been having some funnies with my Toyo's since replacing my old F1's about 2 months ago. Tyre pressures kept falling (I normally have all 4 set to 34psi) and there was some vibration through the steering at 70mph+ (even after getting the balancing re-checked at the garage who fitted my tyres).
Went for a good blast along some nicely tarmac'd (i.e. no huge fecking pot-holes), single-track roads yesterday and I could feel the nearside-rear squatting down a lot and generaly feeling a bit loose. Stopped in at a local BP garage and the pressure was 33psi all round, expect on the nearside rear tyre - it was 26psi
Gave it some air and headed off to a local garage. Had them check the tyre for a puncture and got them to replace all the valves and to re-check the wheels for balance. Turns out three of the wheels were up to 20grams off balance and the valve on my nearside-rear was knackered.
Now the car feels a whole lot better and I'm starting to get my confidence back in it. The Toyos are starting to feel just as grippy as my old F1's in the dry, but since we've had no rain in Scotland for weeks, the jury's still out on their wet-weather performance.

Well, it was too good to be true - yesterday it pi$$ed down overnight. The car feels better since I fitted the solid drop links, but it still slides a little too early in the wet.
It's dry today though, so I had a great blast into work along the A71 this morning. There's plenty of grip with the Toyo's in the dry, but I still think the Goodyears have slightly more and not as reliant on tyre pressures being perfect. It's still the better all-round tyre for me given their better wet weather performance. Haven't tried the SO3's yet.
Oh, and the car feels superb at high speed with my new drop links. Money well spent

The drop link is the connecting bit between the anti roll bar ( sway bar ) and the chassis.
MRT and scooby mania for one ( two? ) do metal links to replace the plastic OEM parts, which supposedly flex less and so the metal parts allow the anti roll bar to work better. They worked ok in my std wagon, Ohh and they come ready fitted with polyurethane bushes, which also helps.
They did seem to do their stuff on my wagon, and for the price were ok.
Uprating the anti-roll bars made more difference though.

Well that's 5k enthusiastic miles on the Goodyears and I'm amazed to say that the wear is so far negligible
That's with the geometry sorted and the fact that I have worn out both SO3's and Toyos in a similar time period speak volumes for the F1's IMHO
Tramlining is still a slight issue but nowhere near as bad as the SO3's
For 16"s I've also settled on 32.5 psi front and 30.5 psi rear for best compromise.....
F1's still way ahead of the others I've tried

I think its time for me to report back, about 4k so far and still stunningly grippy, had my first taste of wet and muddy country roads and it flies around the corners and feels very very safe. I wasnt convinced by all this true grip subaru crap when I first got my car but now I have good tyres it all makes good sense, best thing i've bought so far for the money!

I agree 100% .... having noticed this but it'll obviously lessen the balder they get
Small price to pay but a bit annoying all the same..

Update on Goodyears
Goodyears now well below their legal limit on the front and will be replaced by more of the same Inner and outer edges now worn bald enough to encroach over centre 3/4s and therefore illegal Tyre pressures 33psi throughout and geometry ok
If only I could find a way of making them last a bit longer though
That was 4 months and 8,000 miles. No track days. Backs still OK for probably around another 3,000 miles.
Cheers

I put eagle f1 gsd2's (205/50/16) on the scoob when I bought it in october last year, done 10,000 miles, still have 4 or so mm of tread left. Only problem is little ****** has stored his stanely knife in the side of one of the rear tyres.
So now I've given up trying to get hold of 2 eagles (backorder with goodyear, still waiting ) so I'm going to have to run some other tyre on 1 axle. What yet, I'm not sure.

oh well .. they were doing well .. until work decided to put nails in the carpark .. I'll be seriously talking to them about 2 replacement tyres in the morning ! not to mention the damage when a metal fence (the type that sits in concrete blocks) fell on it today too !

Just checked my tyres after doing a lotus training day.
One thing I would say about the goodyears, if you are going to do trackdays on road tyres, then don't buy goodyears.
They don't seem to be able to cope with the heat generated on trackdays, for spirited road driving the are great, but on the track the tread melts.
