My Resignation as a Moderator
Thanks for the kind words, it's very much apreciated.
Ian, dont worry about it, you have nothing to apologise for.
Being a moderator has never been a nice little perk with feel good factor, it has always been a big responsibility and hard work, but it was worth it because i felt i was putting something back into the comunity i was benefiting from.
I can't think of a single thing that has happened to me in the last three years that has happened because i was a moderator, perks dont exist, they never did for me anyway.
I can think of hundreds of positive things that have come from me being a contributor to the BBS though, which is why i will be staying here and continuing to enjoy the discusions and at times disagreements we have, it's all healthy stuff if done in good humour and with the right intent.
It is true that i do care deeply about this place, it has been a very positive influence on my life. It is also true that i have not always agreed with Simon, especially of late. It wont only be me who is is taking a rest i suspect.
I hope my resigning as a moderator is a positive thing for this BBS (and for me). I have no intent to start slagging people off i would not have done previously. I will be able to ask the type of questions of people i have wanted to, i will also be able to answer questions without being concerned about that being scrutinised as the oficial scoobynet line, which could be the perception.
The issues were not legal as i did not at any time work for scoobynet, being a moderator is not a job, you do not get paid for it. You are seen as a representative of scoobynet however, and the definition of what that means was becoming to restrictive for me to make the level of contribution i wanted to, which is the main reason i decided to resign.
I feel a novel coming on, first one will probably be my impresions of driving Craig and Hippies XTR2 Westfield at Donington, which i will lucky enough to be doing this weekend. I cant wait to see how quick that car can lap, it should be a lot of fun.
Chuck, you should pop up and take a look at it, it's fantastic!

John, sorry to see you go as a mod
but I'm glad to see you are not leaving the BBS altogether.
Ian you work as a mod was excellent imho, and if anyone draws conclusions about your motives it will not be well received from all of us.

John,
when I first read the title of the thread, I thought you'd stop being a moderator and, along with that, maybe even stop being an active member of scoobynet...I'm really glad that was just a bad thought that crossed my mind, it's nice to see that you'll still be here
, and although I haven't been a member for a very long time, I have read lots of your technical related posts and it's just great to have you here, because of your awesome knowledge and experience (and videos and pics
). Thanks for sharing all that with us
.
Thanks,
Kotaro

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
I fully understand and agree with your reasons.

Guys, please...
This thread is about JF. Whatever his reasons are, he has done such a good job that it's hardly fair to let this thread go into side issues.
I don't think JF has *any* enemies on here, even after modding all this time, he is well respected, and he will have his own reasons for doing what he did.
We should just give him a warm round of applause, and look forward to seeing him as a sparring partner again in Drivetrain. Dumpvalves beware
If I was a mod, I would delete the last 2 posts, and that's not a dig towards Ian or Simon.
Edit: speeling.
