anyone else got a Snooper SR-6 Neo?

I got mine last week, hard wired it in on Saturday morning before the Herts,Beds, Bucks meet.
GPS antenna on rear parcel shelf, wire tucks away nicely down rear seat and along the lower door trim, up the rubber door seal onto the top of the dash rhs where I have put the screen using the suction bracket.
I am going to put the R/L detector outside into the lower dam next week.
Took power supply from the fuse box and straight into the unit via a switch located by the bonnet release.
Been out this weekend and it seems to know where all the fixed cameras are, just waiting for a mobile unit to see if it will be as responsive.
So far so good.
If someone can tell me how to do it I will post some pics!

Would someone mind e-mailing me details of where these are available at the prices stated please?
Also, does anyone know if they're illegal in France? I'd heard they are, and I had two narrow escapes last week over there, only being slowed by towing a trailer:

Right, finally fitted mine today and I'm not impressed so far, although I think it's a defective unit. I am having several problems, including:
- it seems to keep losing track of the satellites. It'll be fine one minute then the number of satellites bar will drop down to 0 or 1 and it'll stay like that for a considerable time. At one point today it lost all the satellites and still hadn't found any 30 minutes later. Considering I was on open motorway at the time, that's not too impressive. I switched it off and on again and it found 4 or 5 satellites almost immediately.
- it detects K-band at varying strengths almost all the time. I drove from junction 19 to junction 12 of the M25 this evening and the K-band detection never ceased. It did stop for short periods of time on the M3, but it started again when I left the M3 and continued until I reached home. When I parked on my driveway, facing the garage door, it still claimed to be detecting K-band.
- cancelling an alert or adding a new GATSO site that wasn't detected causes the satellites to be lost and not relocated.
My GPS antenna is on the dashboard in a similar place to MJW's. The RLD is inside the car attached to the left-hand side of the windscreen and high enough not to be blocked by the windscreen wipers, scoop or anything else.
I'll be calling the company about this tomorrow, because I think the unit is defective, but if anyone has any sensible suggestions, please let me know.

Turbokitty sounds like you have a defective unit, did you put it o motorway setting as this gets rid of the farmers field alarms...........
Other than that it is a superb system, I have had no problems and even gets satelites down the country roads........

I had one of those problems to. I have fitted the GPS aerial in the back parcel shelf and the RLD unit in the middle of the windscreen above the windscreen wipers and I had a constant K-Band warning. It was still going off like yours when parked in front of my garage. I'm not entirley sure that the downloads have worked properly either. There is a camera I know about so drove past Sunday and it didn't know it was there. I'm pretty sure the camera doesn't work and has never worked (been there for years) never seen it flash once. Should it still have told me about it?

Bizarrely, when I drove the thirty miles to work this morning, part of which is along the M3, I didn't hear a peep out of it, save for the usual K-band alerts for my local Tesco and the M3 services, and the alert for the one Gatso that I passed. It picked up several satellites in 6 minutes, and even when it lost the signal when I was in a queue of traffic under a flyover, it picked it up again as soon as I got out on to open road.
Maybe it was having an off day yesterday...
Will see how it goes.

I'm going to drive to work tomorrow to see how it goes, hopefully it will pick up the fixed camera that's about 10 mins away from where I work. I noticed earlier on someone was asking about the custom brackets. Has anyone got one yet for a Classic Impreza MY00, just wanted to know how and where it fits? I've just phoned Snooper and the guy on the phone didn't know what i was talking about! The only bracket he knew about was the windscreen sucker one.

Bondy,
Ordered the bracket last week, should get by the end of the week as it had to be ordered. There cataloge only lists it for the classic shape i.e.up to 2000 and its £19.99.
It fits over the air vent above the center console clipping somehow into the gaps above and below the vent,no bolts or screws needed.I`ll take some pictures when it arrives.
Bracket can be ordered on 0870 787 0700
Hope this helps
Dave

I've had no problems with Gatso detection once the unit has locked on to the 3 or more satellites it needs in order to do the GPS thang. Was your display indicating it had 3 or more satellites when you passed the Gatso site? Also, was it displaying your speed?
I 'phoned Performance Products this morning and they have suggested I move the GPS antenna and the RLD further apart. They're also sending me a pre-paid label to return the main unit for a replacement because the display is very pale and difficult to read. Can't fault their customer service, very friendly and helpful.

Had mine for about a week now. Travelling down the A1 yesterday and it didn't miss one gatso (thankfully!). However, whether it warned me about the cameras on the other side of the road seemed to be a bit of a lottery (logic mode 3 & smart mute enabled). I've got the GPS antenna on the rear parcel shelf and the main unit & RLD in the centre of the windscreen.

Bracket turned up this morning and guess what...its for an 01/02 Impreza so there is one after all.Spoke to Stuart at Performance Products and the right one is on order again.
Looking at the bracket its just a mobile phone bracket.
Part No. 98-00 Classic shape 652505
01/02 Bugeye 652885
Anybody with a faint display on the control panel as i have give Stuart a call and they will change it when the next batch arrives at the end of the month,so he says it has a much improved display.
Regards
Dave

After a faultless performance from my S6-R Neo yesterday, I drove the same route today and again it was detecting every blade of grass, small stray dog, traffic cone and anything else it suspected could possible have been using the K-band. On the M3 it didn't let up for 20 minutes.
It's going back to be replaced.
I am also sending the screen back to be replaced because it is so faint and difficult to read.

Hi guys,
Ref the screen. I emailed Performance Products and said that I had read here that the screens would get replaced foc. I got this reply.
"I will contact you when the new unit is in stock, we can discuss arrangements from there on.
Many Regards, Stuart Edmondson"
So, I will keep badgering him about the new screen, as mine is quite difficult to read due to glare.
RE: Radar. Mine bloody blips away all day. There seem to be K-Bands all over the place, to the point where I have no turned this option off.
RE: Laser. I seem to get laser warnings when clearly there is no-one wearing a yellow jacket pointing a gun at me. Drove past some trees the other day and got a laser warning !
RE: GPS. very good, BUT, it doesn't pick up all the speed camera in my area (Southampton/Bournemouth). Just drive into Bournemouth and there are 4 camera's inbound, and 3 outbound. It doesn't pick up 4 of them.
I have 'hotspotted' them in. Maybe they are duff cameras ?
RE: Brackets. Check out www.dashmount.co.uk, I bought a mount for my 02, that screws behind the stereo and allow you to pretty much mount anything to it.

Hard wired mine a few weeks ago now, if anyone wants to see some pictures please let me know and I will attempt to load them up.
Only had to drill one hole, and that was for the independant switch.

When I first fitted my unit it was all on the dash , the sensor fitted to the left hand side of the screen , the GPS sensor on the middle of the dash and the display on the right , I was getting a lot of false alarms , I have now fitted the sensor in the grill , the GPS sensor on the rear parcel shelf and it's much better , I pick up 1 bar on K band at traffic lights but picks up all stuff it should be doing now . But I also lose the satellite signal now and again but usually for a couple of seconds only.

I have had mine in for a couple of weeks and so far impressed but slightly dubious!
Two recently installed, and working, Truvello's on A6 North of Bedford are not showing up when passing them, however, Truvello's on A6 South of Bedford are showing alert although they have no guts inside them and are covered with black plastic.
Another Truvello on the Ampthill Road (B530) outside of Bedford is not being alerted either.
I have uploaded info to Snooper and wait to see what happens next.
