Ecu was supplied by Mark Shead at MADevelopments.. and he has been nothing but helpfull..

MSD was supplied by Mark @ Lateral and he has been nothing but useless...

Autronic claim the SM2 will drive the MSD, which it is doing..

Im thinking about running an optical crank pickup now.

its not fuel related.. as you can hear it poping in the exhaust..

I didnt get one of them due to the crank and cam pickup requiring work..

Also I think I got more features with mine and a price cheaper than most..

so its basicly getting the crank (/cam ?) signals to be recognised but the autronics!
humm .. so is it just spec variance that is causing it to miss timing etc etc ?
it's not exactly gota run 'that' fast to do that timing has it !

no, I think its more the interface that converts the signal to sq wave could be picking up interference..

Fed up of this f ucking car now..

Misfires all over the place..

Well and truly pissed off..

I built the car for totb.. due to circumstances beyond my control.. I didnt have time to get it done properly..

Now Ive run out of time for scoobyshootout.

Whats the f cuking point.. its not like its a road car anymore.. but getting to drive it would be nice..

Anybody want to p/x a std engine and ecu for mine + cash

Yes that was mine + cash..

No way Dave you can't do that, its just your emotions talking. Remember what the boost felt like? Yep, 3 smiling faces going down York road that night eh. . .

Get the TAPOMETER for the fine tuning.

Wink

As you once said to me David.. Now you sound like a fooking girl...

I am sure it is depressing not having it running, but it is not far off a flippin' monster..

So you'll be ready in plenty of time for TOTB3..

Once you have had a break from it and then some success again, I say again as everything with the car was going really well before,
you can make it a road car and a weekend racer.. different maps, or boost settings etc..

A week after you have sold the engine or the car, once you have done a few things that you did n't have time for because you have been in that garage all the time you'll be as bored as sin and missing the car you current are annoyed with.

Take it easy

Simon

you have tasted the fruits of your labour David, don't let it beat you!

I am feeling in a similar mood at the mo, as I was all set in my mind that it would be finished this weekend and I could just go out and enjoy it,
I did enjoy it last night, a little pain having to feather the thottle to keep the boost in check as the clutch let go... but IT IS getting there...
I was in the garage this morning and I must of just looked at it for twenty odd minutes, I really can't be arsed with it either.

BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE. other wise I'll have just wasted circa 7-8k
thought i'd delay the inevitable by tidying the garage first.
well I got the starter off and come in for lunch now.

Question

David ,
I've just watched totb2 on sky sports extra and i didn't see your car on there , did you keep out of the camera's way or was it their bad editing that kept your beast off of the screen,
i was eagerly sitting there waiting to see and here it run but no footage,
Matt.

I had missfires for about 2 years, even still do at times. It is going a lot better, and I am still trying. Still havent figured out what or why. My engine is in bits again, trying to make the damn thing go a bit faster. Trying yet another camshaft.

Dont give up David. You know it will be worth it eventually.
