DIFFERENCE BETWEEN P1 AND 22B ???
#62
Hey, I'm with Adam M on this one. Having driven all cars in question, I would suggest forgetting about the P1. Compairing it against the STI 4/5, 22B and Evo, it makes for an almost dull drive, with loads and loads of turbo lag and understeer.
If you can afford a bit more and can drive well, go for the 22B, it looks good and has the ability to get your heart racing every now and then.
If not on the other hand, consider the STI because it is very good value at todays prices and goes very well too.
The Evo is a very different car and to make your final decision, I would suggest you try them.
I bet if you try the Evo and P1, you will end up with the Evo.
If you try the STI and Evo you may decide on the STI and have some change for a few subtle mods!
Have fun
PS. don't listen to people rambling on about not using the 22B every day, trust me, you can use it every day no problem. I guess that they are refering to the risk of damage and in turn, repair bill / wait.

It's personal choice at the end of the day. I compared an EVO VI Mak with a P1 and guess which I chose (hint - I'm not forced to do an oil change every 4500 )
MHughes PM me if you want my reasons as it's been on here tooo many times already.
Anyone who thinks an evo will destroy a P1 on public roads is insane. We all know it comes down to who's most mental when it comes to the road with cars like these. Just like my P1 won't destroy a turbo. I may have 2 secs 0-100 over one but that means sod all. On the track it may be different.

Is there anyone on this thread that has driven both a 22B and a P1 ? properly ? i have and in my opinion the 22B out performs the P1 in handling and also seems to shift it's self abit quicker out of the corners. IMHO i would say the 22B is the better, but then scoobies depreciate for fun at the moment.

Might just keep the Elise with the summer coming !!!

So are some of you saying a P1 is better than a Type R or RA??? and by better I don't just mean 0-60 but handling, etc, on paper the performance times look very similar but I've just spent ONLY £9,000 on a mint type RA.
Which means P1 at approx. £17,000+ minus £9,000 for RA = £8000 for mods to RA, which = goodbye in mirror P1, EVO6, Porsche, Ferrari, etc. Jus a thought
Only problem I have is where to get 8 grand, some of us don't have that problem

I mean't an older shape UK300 (?) and thought this was what Rich UK300 mean't.
Ummn new shape, be interesting to see how this compares to a Type R/RA, not much in it but probably the R/RA should still be the better. But then...... not too bother really my STI V-ltd Type RA "555" is bloody quick but someone with more money and more mods (or a P1, 22b, etc) may be quicker (but only just, what's 4.6 secs 0-60 as oppose to 0-60 5 secs ?), thats life.
