7 1/2 years.

Still have a scoob, on my second STi5 TypeRA Ltd now.

Funnily enough, i just rebuilt the engine in that two weeks ago, and ran it in with a trip to Knockhill in Scotland. There is a story in that too, as when i got there we ended up stripping my gearbox so the Zen Performance car could use the parts to win the Time Attack round and then they were used in the car the following day at TOTB, which helped the Subaru team to score enough points to win that event too.

My life has changed a lot since then, i gave up IT and took 2 years off work to do some travelling, then decided to try my hand at what i love doing, which is racecar engineering. I now build and run at the races some of my favourite cars, McLaren and March CanAm cars from the 60's and 70's. I drove the 9 litre March CanAm car at this years Goodwood Festival of Speed which was quite an experience.

The most powerful Impreza i have driven to date has around 750BHP, i drove the Zen Performance car at Silverstone in Time Attack for them, slightly quicker than my Sport was back in 2000.

The sport is still one of my all time favourite cars, it's such a great car and doesnt go like it's power figures would have you thinking.

What a brilliant read... this it the first time I have seen this thread in the time I have spent on here as well

A good quote about the Sport as well John, as you say highly underated even though it's not a power car but when you look at handling and brakes the thing comes to life certainly in the twisty country roads.
