<B>Cheers to everyone that posted, I have decided to get the EOS 300 and a lens in a kit for now to get me started! When I can afford to I will then upgrade my lens I think to a mega zoom type thing!

Thanks again

excellent!!
Buy a book as well,John Hedgecoe writes superb beginners books,or just get one from a library.
And one other thing,UK processing is notoriously ****e,so use a decent lab such as Colob,Club 35 or Lab 35.If you have to use the high street Snappy snaps do quite well in tests.
And go easy on the films!!!Processing costs a lot of dosh and theres nothing worse than having 34 crap pics put of 36!!!.Take your time and go easy with the finger..........and dont forget a skylight filter to protect the lense(or UV,same thing) and learn about depth of field after you've got ya head around exposure........see what I mean!!!.....you need a book !!

Any ideas on the book title? I did a search on John Hedgecoe on amazon but he has done loads!

Quite like the sound of Photographing The Nude by him!

Cheers

have got one,"The complete guide to photography" but its not perhaps the best to get started.Cant help beyong that but i doubt you will be disappointed with him,I find he explains in a simple, easy to understand way.
I also have Michael Langfords 35mm handbook which is superb.
Best bet go to a library before you buy and see which like!!
Most will explain the fundamentals of exposure pretty well.

oh,and er,dont suggest to the mrs that nude photos are art,she wont believe you and will think you are a perve!!!

I recently purchased an EOS 300 and I'm very impressed with it. It has loads of featues and also point and shoot (the level that I'm at!!). I do believe it has a plastic lens mount rather than metal and that's probably not so good but overall a good buy. I purchased it second hand from Jessops but it broke and they replaced it with a new one. Total cost £150
