Squirrels 0, Airmiles 2
Our two always seem to bring them indoors alive, perhaps preferring to play with them in the warm! They've lost two or three in the kitchen, though, when the mouse has gone under the washing machine, fridge, or freezer. They then lose interest, and it's left to me or the missus to try to get the damn thing out.
The last one they lost lived happily under the freezer for about 10 days, resisting all attempts to get it out. Everytime we tried to move or tip over the freezer, the mouse would just climb up into the works. And of course the cats were totally disinterested! The mouse was doing alright too, building a little mound of food for itself under the freezer which it had nicked from around the cats' food bowls.
In the end, we went out and got a variety of different mousetraps, and eventually managed to get it.
Don't believe it if anyone tells you that you'll never have problems with mice if you've got a cat!

You want to get yourself a faithful old *****
since we have had our new arrival just over 16 months ago i would have a guess that we have had about 25 dead thing brought in for us in bed
Not very nice when you wake up with a cat sitting on you with some vermin in its chops purring and squeeking at you
But most of the time its dead but sometimes its alive then we have to play catch the rodent !
my other cat can only catch twigs and leaves for me (don't put up much of a struggle !)
