cheers for the comments, do you think the price is reasonable for OE???Is this comparable with what anyone else has paid for OE??

The thing with OE covers is getting hold of them second hand. They were only fitted to STI cars, after all.

When I sold my old MY98 covers I only got £60.00 for them.

Have to agree though, I am very happy ith my £25 covers. £35 if you include the stickers.

My old covers,('original STI' but shape as above!), had a large bracket behind.

Basically a flat triangular plate that bolted to the three foglight holes with three unequal length flat (approx 10mmx2mm) legs coming off.

The ends of the legs had Right angled bends into which was tapped a 5mm thread. It was to these holes that the covers bolted (Stainless screw headed)

The orignal MY99 type covers (facelift) fit by two plastic molded in lugs to the top of the bumper and a single 5mm bolt in the lower outside corner. This is bolted to a single legged short bracket which itself is bolted to one fog light bolt.

I replicated the above MY99 bracket on my copy covers but I have seen someone bolth theirs down with a single 75mm long 5mm bolt into the foglight hole. You obviously need to be more careful lining up that hole.

I mananged to order one too many Pink STI/Black writing stickers (thought the price was each!) however they are only £10 inc postage (7+3p&p) new.

Derek, (Fundimental)

It was me who bought those self same covers and brackets so ill take some pictures and a drawing today and email them to yourself and anyone else?? who is interested.

I didnt use the bottom bracket, preferring to replicate the screw of the original STI cover as I saw it on Megastream's RA. So Ill put the spare in the post to you as well to make copies easier.

Can't be fairer than that!

And YES, they do fit over the top of the original covers if you want and can be removed quite quickly, if you want.

Question

I was just quoted 182.00 for covers for my MY00. This includes painting, STI stickers and fitting kit.(they are OE though)
What do you think?? No drilling required either..
