Note to John Felsted: I hope you do get the chance to drive an STi fugley soon, I'd love to read your opinion.
My advice - give it hell, treat her rough and put the boot in! Seems the more I push my (standard) STi7, the more it loves it...it just gets better and better and better all the time.
As the kilometers get racked up and the gear shifting gets smoother, the turbo seems to be getting a more stealthier...almost as if it loves to silently creep up behind other motors, and scare them sh1tless with that deep growl as it roars by. Only 6000Km on the clock so a whole barrel-load of fun still awaits !!!
BEST car I've owned. By a long, long way.

i have driven an STi7, i was underwhelmed by it big style. Admitedly i only drove it for 20 minutes or so, but thats more than enough time to get a general feel for it, and it felt dead.
Jumping back into my RA it felt like a rocket ship by comparison. The Spec C should be a better comparison i hope.

I'd love to have more information about the RA, P1, 22B and all the other models...I know ScoobyNet has a members gallery and what-not but if there was a site out there with pics of *all the different models*...that would be so cool.

"The looks of the 22B with the P1 performance would be the ultimate."
LMAO!
So you want to take a car with the same power, give it more weight, less torque, longer gears, less grip, less straight line traction due to non lockable centre, and hope it performs better?

Well im not bias
So its got to be an S202 for me
Based on the Type C, its got all the enhanced bits on the engine you need, re worked suspension, better brakes than the STi, Lighter (cos its based on the Type C) 320ps out of the factory
Funny looking spoiler and only 400 of them
Tony
(the 22B is a lovely car and yes i would want one but its not a car i could live with on a daily basis me thinks )

Obviously the UK MY99
- best std alloys (compared to 00)
- best std ECU
- not killer on insurance (compared to P1)
- easily get it to P1 and beyond performance
- 4 door convenience
- available in DBM
- None of problems associated with jap specs
- best car really
- I drive one
The list goes on...

Does anyone remember an issue of CAR magazine about 4 years ago when they tested a de-restricted 22B against a 911 Turbo (1 model before 996)?
They said that the 22B was about 350bhp before it was de-restricted and did 0-60 in under 4 seconds.
According to them the 22B left the porsche for dead on various country roads. When they stopped the porsche driver got out and threw his keys on the floor!

I remember the article, except that it was a 993 carrera 2, so that isnt really that much of an accolade. They also said it felt like 350bhp and could well be. I am guessing this is because they werent used to low down torque and jap spec gearing like that.

Only 2 cars in it if we're answering the question.
S202 is the best - no doubt
22B the most special & best looking - no doubt
All the others are great cars but the question was which is 'the best'!
