PS2 - GT3 - Time Trial - Poll
I think CTRs are excellent cars for the money, quick once on the move, corner well, and are a lot of fun to drive. Have to work hard to keep it on the boil, but thats half the fun, but I can see why some people wont like the engine characteristics.
Its quite good. Very easy to spin the wheels, but seems to have good levels of grip going round corners. Aquaplanes quite a bit, but that could just be down the tyres. Dont know if you own a Scoob, but IMO the CTR understeers sooner than the Scoob in the wet, and you cant stand on the throttle going round corners like you can in the Scoob. I have read other Ex Scoob owners comments that will disagree with the above, but thats just MHO. What car is your mate coming from?
snowcrash - it's the Time trial on Laguna Seca with Dodge Viper so there is no modification of car and you must stay on the tarmac or you'll fail to finish the lap.
Marin - I think you should not practice any more

oh righty ho - will post time tomorrow.
Wasnt doing Laguna Seca in the Viper part of the Super Lisence also?
What about times for the other tracks using Polyphony 001? (seeing as you can't modify it)

bring it on boys!
1:18.125
was on for an absolute screamer after that but took the next to last corner a bit too fast and shot into the pit lane - bah! reckon it would have been around the 1:15 mark.

****. Thought I ruled at laguna seca.. GT2 and the old cusco impreza Jap GT car I flew. Admittedly hate the viper 'cos I can't get the nose turned in.
What settings do peeps use for options - traction control, ASC, steering help?
Can see it could come down a couple of seconds from my 22.449, but down to 18? Not a clue! as for 1:10's, wheel or not, that can't be in the same car surely?
- Mark.
P.S.
How about some times for the complex string time trial

dont have a wheel, tried one once but hated it and i'm not keen on the analogue sticks either. I reckon sub 1:15 is on but doubt I'll ever get ever manage 1:10.
there should be some good scoobynet online battles when gt4 comes out.
complex string? oh god - i normally fall asleep during that one!
hate the viper myself - fav car after polyphony 001 is the prototype impreza with a bigger turbo on to put it up to the 450bhp mark - just the right amount of power to go like stink and still be in with a shout of staying on the track.
maybe this thread should be given a end date - the winner gets to choose the next car and track?

my tip for the corkscrew - on approah be on the right hand side of the track and then aim to be going straight for the apex (of the left turn) when you slam your anchors on. picking a braking point is a bit trial and error but I go off the tyre marks on the road.
do it this way and you barely have to turn left at all, and you're more or less heading in the right direction so you dont have to turn right either.
right - does that make sense?
got another tip but keeping that under my hat...

Not played on GT3 for a while before this - might finish off those couple of endurance races I couldn't be bothered with...
IMHO the most important corner when going for a fast lap is the last corner, before you even start the lap - if you dont get big speed up on the start / finish straight, a fast times gone out of the window before you've even started.
