the auction grades can vary as at the end of the day it's down to the person inspecting it. My point is though just because someone says it's mint, it may be mint but that doesn't mean it was the best auction grade.

Most auctions won't give the best grade to a car that has had panels replaced (even for legitimate reasons).

I'm sure the owner just wanted to chnage some bits but the auction sheet would be good to see.

I've bought loads of cars from auction and can honestly say, the cleanest, best examples are accident damaged cars (except a few but these get silly money).

Hi mat ,
i have also heard the ones to go for are accident damaged , as
again the repairs have to be top notch , if they want to get a half decent return via an auction , as the auctioner will spot every error etc in the repair and highlight this fact .....
ahhhh b4rno .......that would be Mr Neil Barrrrnnoooooo
then ? ..... and you must be , was it his brother in law with the scooby ??? ...... hows your motor going , neil said it was a tidy example and was flippin quick ! ....... well it would be compared to his old tank ...heheheheh :-) ........ say hello to neil when you see him from me ...... to everyone who has PM'd me , many thanks for all the good info .....
cheers

The 10% eu tax is basically the 10% import tax we said above.

Yeah i did save a hell alot of money. I saw pictures of the car of the site i bought it off. So i knew what it looked like. But when it came over, didnt know there was so much messing about. First the rear shock was gone. So had to sort it out. The company at the docks quoted me £470 for the shock and fitting! So i had to get the shocks myself and send it up to them.

I guess the main pain was that im in Surrey, West london but the car was imported to Newcastle as i paid a guy to run about to sort out all the SVA tests etc. I wish i imported to docks down here so i could sort it out.

Then again, it would have had problems passing the SVA. Like i said before, you have to know about the exhaust, steering wheel etc which i never knew. lol

If you email me offline, ill answer any other questions for you (if i can)

Looks good mate. I imported a 1995 about 2 years ago. Points to consider. Obvious things for the SVA like, fuel neck restrictor, speedo needs converting. Watch for worn turbo. Plus the japs have a furl fetish over there, so watch they have not been using additives as this seriously cacks up the fuel tank. Another thing is most jap imports are a bit bad for leaking water through the boot. (look at various posts) plus insurance is alot higher and maybe it was just mine but the brake discs are a weird size. Plusz whats the deal with the bonnet change (possible accident ?). Hope i have not scared you too much as you seem to have it for a good price and if it is all ok, a good car in all.
