When you order the xbox live thingy how long does it take to come?

 

I ordered my XBOX live on 10/12/2002 and it turned up today (16/10/02). It was shipped 13/12/02 from Germany and took 2 days to get through customs as they don't work at the weekend. If you order on a Monday, odds are that it will arrive by Saturday morning.

 

Mine took around 6 days to arrive.

Had a good sesh on Moto GP last night, kept comming second and third, plus I had a blistering lap on Mugello, 1.39.64 (almost caught Jack)
I followed the leader round 5 laps and watched what lines he was taking and when he was braking and managed to take 2 seconds off my laptime.
Does anyknow know how the rankings system works?
Does unlocking Sheriden make a big difference? I took 2 seconds of Mugello last night, moved up 3,000+ places on Mugellos ranking, but yet only moved 15 places in the overall ranking? Whassupwitdat?
I can't seem to get higher than 3,800 even though on average I'm below that - the only thing is I haven't unlocked the Sheriden Track yet.

 

Next time you're in a room ask to race Sheridan, it makes a huge difference.

 

Pinkeye, I asked one of our programmers and this is what he said.

"I'd direct them to http://www.planetmgp.com

Ranking is completely based on your lap times on all the tracks. To get a good ranking you need to set a good time on all the tracks, including Sheridan."

 

Ok, means I'll have to try and unlock Sheriden to get higher than I am now.
I thought it would average the number of tracks you rode on, so does that mean those with only the 3 track online demo version will never get high in the charts (so to speak)?

I guess that's incentive to buy the full product

You can race the other tracks with the demo and improve your score, you just have to race as a ghost.

 

I read somewhere that racing as a ghost doesn't count as a score, you have to have the full game.

"It is possible to race on 'locked tracks' but you show up as a semi-transparent ghost image and your score does not count towards your overall ranking."

Ok PinkEye, I type this with bleeding fingers, But I have unlocked all the tracks, except Sheridan.

 

Cool, get some ice on those fingers.
I'm halfway there, unfortunatly you can't cancel a season onece started so I had to play through the 2nd skill level before doing champion so I can get Sherian.
Managed to get pole on the first 6 tracks and Smash the lap record during the race so far
It's a shame you can't end the season prematurely when the second-place bloke can't catch you on points.

Would love to play at the mo, but NTL seemed to have fubar'd my connection.
Can't get any connection, PC or Xbox
Hopefully will have it resolved soon but don't hold your breath, This is NTL's help line I'm ringing.

 

Yeah NTL are sh*t, I phoned them up and was sent through about 5 people olny to be sent back to the original person who then gave me the same number that I'd just been through.

 

I waited on hold for 30 mins before hanging up and sending them an email (of which they'll no doubt reply by saying 'ring us')
Managed to unlock Sheridan and all now - and I can't play online

 

Bought unreal championship, couldnt bring myself to buy motogp as I am not a motorbike racing fan. Nevere played an online game before, and I was absolutely slaughtered by the novices.

They really should make halo live compatible!

Can someone explain how you chose who you want to speak to on the headset, and if its two way or not?

I havent received my pack yet but am interested.

 

Apparently, Halo2 will be Live compatible.

 

Adam, how are you connecting if you don't have the pack yet?

Go and moan about NTL very loudly on NTHellworld.com seems to work. I'm trialing XBox live with them and so far they've been very helpful. They send out a hub and provide two IP address so you can easily use both PC and XBox. Oops, forget I said the above, not supposed to talk about it.

When my connection went down the other week, they came out and fixed it that night.

 

to connect all you need is the code that tehy give you when you pay and an x box live enabled game.

which I bought last night.

I wasnt able to use the headset as it hadnt arrived, but it arrived today.

I bought a 3 m twisted pair cat five cable, and set the thing up to register myself.

What I havent found is the options list that lets you enter in your friends.

Can someone run me through this?

It wasnt available as an option on unreal championship. There was a friends menu but all it said was currently empty.

Will be on tonight playing on moto gp if anyone is around.

 

Start the Xbox without a disk inserted. Go to the live menu, account management - I think! Friends list.

I'll be on during the adverts from around 7:30 onwards.

 

Just got Mechassault and had a quick single player practice.
Will give it a go on online in a few minutes.

 

Grand Prix, 8:00pm tonight. I'll send invites.

Ran into 'Blowdog' (literaly at one point) (Ex Scooby owner) on line last night.

Keep this list growing and we could get a Scoobynet session going. Does anyone know if you can only limit players to those in your friends list ?

I raced with Blowdog the other night, was going to ask if it was one and the same but was too busy racing. You can reserve as many places as you want for friends.

Santa brought me a copy of Unreal, not sure that I like it. Run around, shoot people and... well that's it!! It seems.

 

After playing the demo of Blinx I might get that next, really thought I wouldn't like it but I did, Quantum Reddshift, however, was a let down, handling is just 'too much like glass'
