What did you replace your impreza with?

A little embarrassing but I replaced my MY01 with..... a 1971 VW camper van, and a Ducati 748.
The kick of the 50bhp 1600cc engine in the van is really quite incredible
Still the bike is a beastie and I don't miss the scoob at all..... well maybe a bit in the rain.

Replaced modified 1994 with a 1998 E36 328i Coupe + Seriously modified 205 GTi and recent addition to my collection was a Suzuki GSF600 (bandit).
Any regrets ~ only the note of the Decat Impreza.
and the fact that the 1.9 205 currently does 10.5 MPG

Wow, lots of folks with few regrets
Was thinking of a P1/STI but then that's just more of the same. To be honest I can't think of any car that really excites me enough to want to buy it right now. Maybe it is time for a motorbike But then again with 5 months of snow and ice I'd be stranded for half the year!
My bet is that in a couple of months I'll probably have taken the easy way out and bought another scooby. At least that would please Mrs Zax, a most important consideration...

YYY, in the 5 months I have had mine I have been pulled once. I hardly describe that at "police magnet" would you? Don't forget Manchester has a massive car crime rate.
I only put the slower bit in as I knwo you would bite .
I did say it was a nice car as well though
TBH the servicing wouldnt worry me, as mine is serviced every 3000 miles and the fuel tank I only get about 200 miles out of my RA on a full tank.
Yep and your right I am terrified I just have to live with my 0-60 in 4.5 and 0-100 in 12, average family saloon car .
Cant remember every metioning about suspension as pink STI stuff is rock hard and 18's dont help either.
Honestly I was disappointed with the E7 interior though. I expected better but it was just simply functional.

Replaced my MY95 WRX with......
MY95 M3 Convertible, replaced that with......
MY99 Yellow EVO V, replaced that with......
MY00 P1, replaced that with......
MY98 5.0litre TVR Chimera, replaced that with......
MY00 BMW 328ci, replaced that with......
MY99 360bhp EVO VI, and JUST , replaced that with......
MY97 Audi A4 2.6 V6 Quattro and a Westfield ZEi220 (480ish bhp per tonne)
All in the past year, each of them were essentialy compromise cars. The split between a runabout and a focused fast road/track car was the next logical step, i think anyway
Wonder why im skint?

MY 99UK modded turbo replaced 5 weeks ago with a brand new TT225C.
Miss old turbo and (sadly) stopped at the garage where it is for sale and looked round it.
Miss the seats and go and verve for life, dont miss interior and thirst and image.

MY00 full Scoobysport de-cat zorst - turbo back. ITG. HKS SS BOV. Leda B sus. ECUTEK stage 2.
Replaced with:
E46 AC Schnitzer M3 cabriolet.
Currently running both and as much as it saddens me to say this the BM wins hands down. In a straight line. On the motorway. On B roads. And the engine and exhaust note is as good as the de-cat scooby.
Like everyone else I miss the initial turbo thrust in the BM, which actually makes it feel slower. The stop watch does however tell a very different story.

UK MY00 which I had owned from new went in February of this year after 22 months ownership. Reason for this was a thread on scoobynet asking how much does your car cost to run. Worked out that from new the car had cost me £750 a month. I decided that day that I wanted rid of it and needed to replace it with the cheapest car to run I could. £750 a month to run a car which I use to drive 5 miles to work and rarely use on the weekends because I was too scared to park it anywhere.
Bought a brand new Renault Clio 1.2 16 Valve Dynamique which over the last 9 months has been absolutely brilliant. Never got lower than 40 MPG around town and can get 50 MPG on te motorway taking it easy. Free insurance for a year and 2 year/18000 mile service intervals mean the only cost has been to put petrol in it. It's even got more toys than the Impreza and cost £12,500 less...
Best decision I ever made getting rid of it as it was my first expensive new car and I was paranoid apart parking it anywhere. I also used to spend 4 hours every weekend washing it whereas I have washed the Clio once in the last 6 months and it took about an hour. Impreza prices have nosedived in the last 9 months and the image has gone downhill as well.

are you lot going soft? Some interesting comments but come on, 'now i get 40 mpg' or 'i can park it anywhere' doesnt exactly put fire in ya belly does it??
I have considered swapping my scoob for a M3 but cant bring myself to do it...they are common as muck and lets face it, BMW drivers are usually arrogant pompous tossers who buy the car for the badge and nothing else. Sure the M3 is quick but if it doesnt 'feel' quick and you have to look at the stopwatch to realise how quick it is then what is the point?? If you enjoy a fast car then surely its more fun if the car actually feels fast?
If i change mine i think it will have to be a P1...limited numbers and fantastic performance...or maybe a diesel BMW or a Renault Clio 1.2 auto...ha ha ha...boring...

maybe bumcrack but M3's dont look that different from the other 500,000 3 series on the road...as P1's are the equivalent of M3's (ie top of the range motorsport specialist makeovers), M3's are common. Just search on autotrader or Top Marques..dozens of em!

suprising number of folk have (like me) sold their fast road car (ok - mine was an ITR rather than a scoob) and gone for a more practical road car (A4 avant in my case) and something slightly barking mad for weekends and / or track use (in my case a 205 race car)
Got to say that, for me at least, this really is the way to go - especially when there's a very barking 'bike in the garage too

Got rid of the P1 not to buy another but so that I could afford to finish my weekend/track day car that is half built.

I had 2 my00's and loved both of them, but i was doing loads of miles and not only was it was costing me a fortune, it was also killing me sitting in them for 4 hours at a time...
so I got an audi quattro TDI instead.
With a bit of tinkering it now goes like a rocket, looks the biz and I can get 500- 600 miles out of a tank, in comfort, at licence breaking speeds if i want to
Still miss the scoob though...
