Xenon bulb possible group buy
#333
I'm glad you like them, perhaps a few of you that have them fitted would like to give a few words of appraisal.
I'm away for 10 days on a course, so if anybody e-mails me over the next few days, it will take a little while to get a reply
regards
JG

Havent got a P1 (its an MY00 Turbo) but the bulbs are the same anyways. Only really want the H4's for the main headlights now but if the groupbuy needs my two pairs then I will honour my original order of two pairs (1x H4 and 1x H3).
Cheers,
Simon.

Hi John - I have been out of town and have only just got around to installing the fogs you sent me recently. No for the bad news - after two days of driving the RHS fog bulb has blown?! I was extremely careful when i installed it not to touch the glass etc so i don't think it was anything I did - especially since it has blown so quickly?! Any chance you can send me a replacement??

.....anyone else experienced any problems with their HB3-9005 or other bulbs for the MY03??? I have had two blow within just over a week now and am not sure whether I should try and get some replacements off John or maybe consider another brand. Anyone care to comment? HIDs are starting to look a lot more attractive now

Hi Mike I too have had problems as you already know which cost me €100 to sort.I have decided to dump these bulbs after 2 failures and install Philips Vision Plus which I have literally just put in. To be totally honest I do not rate Johns bulbs at all, I think the light output is very poor even compared to my standard bulbs although the white/blue light they give off is nice though. Ill update you on the Philips tomorrow.

...thanks for that Simon - yeah I would be REALLY interested to know how the new bulbs go. As I mentioned - I am really starting to lust after a "proper" HID solution now. FYI - apparently there are some VERY good bulbs made by Philips (but very hard to find outside of Japan) called "SilverStar"....if you find any then let me know. Good luck mate and let me know how you get on! Mike

Clubscene,
What's been the problems with these bulbs? I got mine from John yesterday but won't get a chance to install them in my MY03WRX until tomorrow. I did see these bulbs on E-bay a long time ago but didn't know they were the same ones until I opened the package.
Any help appreciated before I open the sealed boxes.
Thanks,
Andy.

Note on the legality of bulbs, 55/65 watt is the only bulb that can be legally used on UK roads. There are a number of manufacturers that make Xenon filled bulbs which give between 30 and 50% more light, these are legal, because they a still 55/65 watt.
100+ watt bulbs were originally produced for the rally market and legally can not be sold for road use (disclaimer stickers are usually attached)
HID bulbs and conversions are also not e marked for use on UK roads either.
A good pair of H4 xenon +50% shouldn't cost more than £10 if you shop around. A single HiD bulb will cost about £70+vat
