What engines fit? I read a CCC which had one with a 2litre alfa engine in the back
I would have thought a turbo hyabusa engine would be just about right........

Cool

This one is pretty cool...

It runs with a mid-engine Ford Granada 2.9 litre V6 transplant, plus rear-wheel-drive!

Thumbs down

and if i don't sell it , i will turbo charge the engine some time next yr, with t28 garrett and even if i make 110 bhp from this engine my power to weight would be alot better than the scoob and who would laugh then

and whip your scooby *** , oh yes a 2 cyl...... you lot seem to for get that my car only 400kg
Q. Who would laugh then?
A. Everyone would laugh at you, just after the first corner.

To be fair, obtaining 110bhp from a 2CV engine would be quite a technical achievement - even more so if it didn't blow up.

Getting a 2CV chassis to handle that much power without shaking itself to bits or washing out with terminal understeer would be an even greater achievement.

Frankly, if you attempt either, then you have too much time on your hands, and are putting your talents to waste. I pity you. Crush the 2CV and make room for a Westfield instead.

Andy.
ps. yes, I have been in a 2CV, it was sh*te - totally devoid of any redeeming features whatsoever.

Darth,

I'm not 'defending' Beemerboy, I just agree with him. I just don't 'get' the 2CV - I see nothing in it beyond its comedy value. I could never abide the thought of spending perfectly good time and money on modifying one, when I could instead be working on a platform with genuine potential. If you do then I guess I'm happy for you, but I'd be even happier if you were spending your time and money on something worthwhile, say, a Caterham or Westfield.

There used to be a 2CV racing championship at Knockhill - usually about as exciting as watching slow drying paint dry.

But at the end of every year they used to have a track/corporate hostility type day for marshals and some of the 2CV drivers would bring their cars along and let us have a drive in them. Slow? Oh yes, really slow. Fun? Oh yes, really fun! Everyone got out of the car grinning (and moaning about the gear change!)

Darth,

I love it, dont take any notice of the blinkered types you get on here, I love cars based on engineering and performance, the 2cv was an engineering triumph (some time ago granted) and one that performs sounds like fun, I couldnt quite find it in my heart to stump up 3 grand for it but I hope somebody does.

Mark Jackson

thank you ok so 3k might sound i bit high

the lowest i would take for it would be £2,500 i have spent a lot of money on the car since it was new

i know poeple take the pi5s ,but for me to get this car to the power that i have achived was a very hard effort

i did tune it the car myself i might add, the porting of the head was done by an enginering company.

I did go through trial and error aswell and have spent a lot of money on the engine and the rest of the car

Marco , Tiff PI5S off

i bet your cars are very slow and my 2CV would beat them

rant over

Darth

bring your 2cv to essex, and i'll flatten it with ONE of my 245/50's

My radio controlled car has more power than this gay-frog-wagon.

i'm 34, by the way, and worked hard for my car.

i guess you bought yours with your paper round money!!!

you were done!!!
to55bag!!

ps. with a car like that, i thought you'd be able to take a joke!!

Daft vader (AKA Co55ie mkII)
You do make me laugh!!!

my car would blitz you without me even starting the thing up.
i personally wouldn't waste the optimax, but the offer to crush your tinfoil bandit mobile still stands!!

i will post up a piccie to make you GREEN and give you something to work towards.

start by getting another paper round, then maybe progress to bob-a-job, then rob a bank, coz thats the only way you'll ever own a 'proper' car.

I'm off home now in my luxurious shed. - keep flipping your side windows, to let out the fumes and garlic!!

see ya saddo..
