So who is this "secret" master driver?

Is it the Phat car driving Ring Meister himself?

You may have caught Stef at a bad time - you usually cannot shut him up

He tends to have a lot on his plate on track days.

Much as i hate to admit it he's not a bad bloke

Not wishing to answer for him - just know him (not in the biblical way you understand)

Paul

Thanks chaps! (those decent enough to give credit where it's due! ).
It was a great day and there was a bit of a buzz when this Coyne chap turned up. I'd never heard of him, but he bought an entourage of about ten people with him!
I was obviously pretty chuffed to finish above him. It's also worth noting that out of the top 15 cars 8 were actually driven either by Palmersport instructors or professional racing drivers.
I've no doubt that it won't be long before another Impreza beats my time but please, at least let me enjoy it while it lasts.

Arron.
A proper driver like Dave Coyne you mean?
If you're so **** hot, let's see what you can do at Bedford.

Martin.

Daimo.
Pardon me for not finding my cover the most interesting thing to discuss.
And you're right, you car isn't that fast!
But please, keep your snidey comments in Corsa Land.

Adam.
Who said anyone worships me? Can everyone just get off my back and get a friggin' life. Can't anyone do anything good in this world without a bunch of muppets jumping up and down whinging????

Regards.

Stef.
PS The Darren Soothill in the Skyline is NOT the same Darren Soothill that used to have the Scoob. Weird co-incedence though.

Stef,

How did you get invited? I'm not a regular Autocar reader and the article seemed a bit lacking in that detail (apart from "100 lucky Autocar readers" )

Carl.
There was an article advertising it in Autocar some time ago. It was the first 100 to book, no invites.

There were some invites.... or at least 'heads up' any way. I was there and was very chuffed with my 3.00 lap time in an almost standard Boxster Must say that the two Golfs there were absolutely unbelievable, and total track weapons and were driven by a master... however only the body shells bore any resembelance to anything VW has ever put on the road... Great day out though... I'm off to what has got to be one of the best driving facilities in the world for another go on sept 26th I'll try and stay on the black stuff this time as well

Well well Mr. Bird-brain has managed to pi$$ everyone off again. And he claims it’s in the name of ‘humour’, HAAAA. Maybe in his alien culture

I’m just waiting for Blabber Babber to join in and start moaning.

For your info D Coyne’s car was an STi, so similar in power to Stef’s.

Stef put in an excellent lap. So slap the chap on his back and NOT knock him for his efforts, *****

Just to brag I managed a time of 2:59.80 in a standard MY00 (with big brakes admittedly). The third quickest Scooby of the day, OOOOPPAAALAAAAHHHHH

MRK. Great time.... next time I will have to put my roof up and show you scooby drivers just how fast a **** hairdressers posemobile can really go
P.S I thought the day was great value for the amount of track time you got... although I think that was partly because after my timed lap I missed the exit by mistake and no one seemed to mind so I did 8 more laps and only came off coz I was tooo knackered

Tou boys need to get out more
If I wasnt trying to sell my car I would have a crack at it.
Dont need to prove anything to anyone
The banter is meant for those concerned who take it with a pinch of salt......I hope.
I must admit that driving my car round and round Bedford doesnt interst me that much........however driving my old mates car is much more fun and costs me fack all
Pitty its a bit loud
Stef any time you wanna have a go in the same car round the same track give me a call......better be your car tho eh
Thats if it still drives straight after you crashed it so many times
To all the other replies I say bo11ox and hope to continue winding you all up as it seems so easy.
Harj where have you been ??
Thought I saw you giving out the drive thro`s at my local KFC

Why is everyone blaming arron, he may be a tosser but he hasnt said anything out of place here.

Stef,

your hero worship on this bbs, is not your fault, so dont be offended. I was having a crack at those who worship you when you clearly deserve to be ridiculed, possibly with a herring.

I heard that there may have been a timing error with Dave Coyne's run, and without that his time would have been 2'37 in a WRX i.e. just 3 seconds off Steven Sutcliffe in Caterham's own R500. If true, that makes Mr Coyne one hell of a fast driver and would explain why Senna rated him! Btw another normal punter Mr Alan Archer did 2'49 in a totally standard 1995 BMW M5 (340bhp, about 1700kg) which is pretty impressive IMO. But well done Stef for giving the proper drivers a scare!
