Trout's car is sick - again

Simple problem this time - the AP clutch has submitted to my weedy torque figure and is slipping - this was proven trying to pass Wallis and Gromit as they came onto the M62 in their Rover 200

So don't see the point in running and I can't be bothered to change the clutch as the gearbox will be coming off shortly after the event.

So I will be there - but not on the rollers - roll on WL5

Mark made me do it.....could you smell the clutch burning as we went past!

I'll leave you on the list for now in case it gets sorted Trout, but if not, one of the reserves can have your slot.

BuRR,

It's £25.

My car sick too. Gearbox dead. Sounds like a coffee jar full of 10p pieces.

Should be ready for the day though.

Cheers

Rich

No not the Scooby guy up the road.. thats a Blue one.....

Christian

Yeah... should be.. just need to get some miles on the vehicle. I've only done 500 miles since the rebuild.. I need to get a few miles on it but just dont have the time at the moment... Am hoping to do 1000+ miles in the next week.. I'd give the car away for a week if I could trust the person.. I would'nt trust my own girlfriend to keep the revs down! then oil change then over to Bobs for a remap session, water injection stuff and other bits... then probably return to Bobs for another run a week later.. probably an evening do....

As its so soon since the rebuild I may not be up to full boost, and thats assuming the clutch holds - its just the Organic - I had the paddle one on before, but thats simply undriveable.

Just waiting on some headers also but they wont be ready before the run

You up for an early run to Batley then on the Sunday!....

I'm hoping Harvey's car will be ready... I saw it the other week at Roger Clark Motorsport when I was picking my car up....

That's right Dave, the box has only just gone in and it's back out again!!

Dunno what went wrong just went for fifth and boom! was exhibiting signs like clutch slip (but only in 5th) for a while before it went pop.

Just waiting on the diagnosis now.

Cheers

Sounds like the key driving 5th gear has gone Rich, the cog then friction welds itself to the shaft Not a pretty sight.

Sly Fox,

Don't think I've seen your name on the threads before, otherwise you would have been included.

Mail me with your car spec and reg no and I'll see what I can do.

Cheers

Can you edit my car spec again, and remove the ITG. Took it off when the PPP was fitted....

See you all in a fortnight...

Doh - wont have water injection by then and I'm waiting for some headers, but I didnt mention after market headers in the original spec

Should be excellent for the summer when I have:

1. WI
2. Decent headers
3. Bigger turbo

Might get near Harveys power then...

That said still cant wait after having the car mapped the other day... glad I got a boost gauge that goes to 2.5 bar!...
