Yes I think its a good idea that you cant make the first runs

I'll just be interested to see how my car does after a few mods.. I know I wont win.. I dont have a 2.5 litre engine (or Harveys turbo!)- but it'll be an interesting day anyway for a small amount of money!

Cant say I'd want to leave my car parked in Batley while at the Pub - Batley is hardly a 'safe' area.... I'd trust my car more outside a drug dealers in Moss Side

Question

Rich,

Can you add a GTiR (Steve B.)to to the first day. It's a mate of mine whose been along to WL1&2 and fancies a run. I'll get a definitive list of his current spec and mods, and what he'll have done by Jan as he's having considerable work planned over Xmas and let you know if a place is still available.

Cheers,

Cube.

I hope so - should be getting car back soon - just getting a few bits resprayed after I took a hammer to the bonnet a couple of months ago! - I was a bit annoyed with the car that day!

Shame I wont be ready for the PS run in early Jan - but I'll see what I get there later on - the numbers are'nt as 'optimistic' as Well Lanes! about 20bhp lower

Christian

There is no such thing as a 'better' RR - its more of a comparison of before and after mods. (although I've read that some in the past should be avoided, not WL,PS,or PE though)

Well Lane is the only one that I have ever found to be consistent, i.e. if I have done a mod and it feels faster on the road this will equate to more power at Well Lane

I say that WL is optimistic as I have had lower power at both PS and PE, or Interpro. (although at PE I had a slipping clutch and a broken Turbo Up-pipe.

Hence WL gives me a higher reading than say PS. At some if I look at the PAW figure there is no consistency whatsoever, i.e. putting a bigger turbo on and advancing the ignition caused a 20bhp loss at the Wheels at one RR - TOTAL RUBBISH. I have just found out that with this (one of my current cars) and previous ones, Like Modified Escorts Cosworths, Wl gives me about an average of 20bhp more than others

Indeed there are some people on this board who almost completely discount the results of WL unless you have been to PE and had a similar figure (my run at PE a year back did not help this as I got 315bhp a few weeks after the run at WL when I got 346bhp, but note point above)

To be fair I know how fast my car is and I've been in other peoples cars, so I can still smile to myself

I will be doing a comparison. Probably only at PS as for an individual session I think PE is too expensive. £40 is about the max they should be as they dont take that long to set up.

I also find the events at WL a lot friendlier - must be the North South Divide thing! - not so many serious people up North!

I'm gonna do some track sessions next year so we'll see what the cars like around the track....

Popped up there on Thursday just to check a few things with my motor on their R.R. before Oulton on Saturday (just gone)

Spec coming through soon Rich......

Let's say...I quote Ian as saying that apart from their own 545 bhp cossie they used to have ....this one is the most powerful to have been on the R.R. and that was at 28psi.....in the New Year it'll be holding 34 psi

Till then...

True.........

I do miss tracking/running a scoob but unfortunately to get even 2/3 rds towards the spec/power etc... of this would cost a very small fortune ....and I couldn't justify having £20k upwards in a car that sees as many trackdays that I do ! Hence this machine !
