BBC sacked Angus Deayton the ********s
Marko - You're missing my point - the veiwing figures went up IMHO because the anchorman was getting the $hit kicked out of him by his guests (role reversal and all that) - the point is that the new *format* is more popular than the old format - but the producers don't want to listen to public opinion - they know what's best for us - W@nkers

Oh, and the format hasn't changed (ever) so I've no idea what you're on about there.
And another point - high ratings do not a good show make (or words to that effect). Pop Idol has huge viewing figures, but that doesn't mean it's quality does it? Or do you think the BBC should always pander to higher viewing figures, regardless of quality degradation?

Smug and self-centred maybe
But I think idiot is a bit harsh. At least Mark has formed a rational argument.
The purpose of the programmes it to take the **** out of those caught being naughty by the media. It would be a nonsense to have someone in exactly that position leading it - he'll make an excellent guest though

As a fan from day one, I recall the last diasterous time they DID alter the format.......Anyone remember when Paul Merton was substituted for Eddie Izzard? Very successful that was....NOT
Just about everyone with a view on this has a case. I do not for one tune in for moral guidence /leadership to a programme like HIGNFY. However this may not be the case for the average Blue Peter viewer which is where the moral confusion lies methinks
