Obviously CraigH and I are interested... its pretty hard 'enjoying' the XTR2 on the road - thats why we have been attending bruntingthorpe for shakedowns at great expense.

I think in these times car clubs will have to pull together for trackdays.

* There is fear of IM warranty watchers
* focus may have changed from trackdays to frantic modding
* There isn't as much cash around at the moment
* Diehard club members have moved on from Subarus - its bound to happen at somepoint

Having sold my scooby and running a westfield I also felt there was little to gain from renewing membership with the club - other than staying in touch with good friends made over the last 5 years.

I loved SIDC days - even more so with a mixture of vehicles. Just imprezas can sometimes seem a little bit like a precession. This is the situation as we left it at last years AGM with CraigH, Dingy, Cem and others all in attendance.

I personally think 'all' drivers can gain in 'multi-marque' trackdays. Being able to compare and contrast different cars (be it either from the passenger seat, drivers seat or even the pit wall). Plus it also makes things more interesting for spectators.

I'm sure I speak for many people in saying multi-marque days are the way forward. Spreading the cost of a day between several car clubs is a sensible way of spreading the risk associated with booking such venues.

And yes - there will always be quicker cars - but part of the track experience is understanding/adapting driving awareness in the presence of such beasts. All things that can be placed back into driving on roads.

Definately interested - I've been on a number of Track Days already and the SIDC events are well organised and great value for money. I'd have loved to do Bedford but at the moment am plain skint (spent too much on SIDC events already this year!), but be assured that once the New Year comes round I'll be there again!

You're right -- Bookatrack don't seem to ask to see a driving license. They also allow open-wheeled single-seaters at some of their days (though it did get a bit silly when someone asked if they could bring an F3 car )

I attended as many as I could last year but a change in financial priorities meant that this year sadly, I haven't been on track at all.

Many of the people I remember from 2000 and 2001 seem to have moved on from Imprezas but I always enjoyed days where there was a variety of machinery out on track.

I'm planning to do at least 3 next year though. It would be a shame for these to stop running as they are (as so many have said) a great way of meeting people and enjoying our cars to the full

Im posting this on behalf of chris "MELLOW" Ive just spoke with him on the phone. And as he is away from his computer until thursday ! he has asked me to say on his behalf,thankyou to all the SIDC members for there words of support. But chris feels he has been left with know choice but to resign as SIDC track day organiser. I will leave it to chris to explain his reasons.

Just my own opinion now, chris seems to have been left with a big task in solving the problems within the SIDC and has been good enougth to give up his own time to do this. But there seems to be a small number of people within the SIDC that think they know better. Well if that was the case why is the SIDC in mess its in?

Don't have much spare time at the moment for various reasons, so don't post or read the posts as much, and thought I would add my 2p worth.

I attended 4 SIDC Track days last year, in my JDM Civic Type R, met some great people, just find it easier to book with Bookatrack, Easytrack, RMA etc to be honest.

I found them excellent and with Dingy, Mike R, Cem, David B, to name but a few in non Scoobs, added to the day.

I attended a Trackday at Anglesay with the Honda-R club, 35 Honda's filled the day, it can be done, but I prefer a mixed bag of cars.

I would happily return to doing SIDC days, and could proberly russle up some Type R's new and old.

I would have come to Bedford but as with any trackday I can not book it this far in advance, spoke to Chris last week to check if OK.

If the event is open to non Scoobs, I know of atleast 2 people with Honda Civic Type R's who could make this date.

I don't fully understand how we got here. One minute we were "banning" none scoobs or at least saying scoobs would have first choice due to everyone wanting to go on track and now track days are being cancelled because no one wants to go.

We always said throughout 2000 and 2001 that SIDC track days were the best organised best days available. IMO the mix of cars was very good, I enjoyed rides in dingy's MK2, TypeR's Civic as well as Skylines and Evo's.

I'm no longer an Impreza Owner but my Alfa has SIDC and scoobynet sticker displayed in the front and rear windows. The SIDC is for more than just people with Impreza's in my opinion. It was more of a social club with like minded people, a lot of whom felt pushed out.

I'm very sorry that Chris feels he can't continue I hope that someone who has the time, knowledge and commitment of Stef and Chris comes forward to take on the challenge.

I'm jumping up and down, wanting to do a trackday, especially at bedford (novice) but things that I can't change prevent me from doing this at the moment.

Cash or rather the lack of it.

other things I want to do before the first track day are ;
slicks.
more gauges.
rear pads ds2500 (way to skippy at the mo when pushing it)
all of which require yet further inputs of cash so it will be a while yet folks.

Definately keen to do as many track days as possible. Have not been on any for about a year as putting all money into major rebuild. Now engine/transmission rebuild sort of complete so raring to go. Disappointed Bedford cancelled as it looks like I've sorted some injectors/remap out (as of tomorrow) and eager to scare myself again !!!!!!!

Yes, I'm interested. That said I'm looking to take part in any track days run by sensible people and with sensible people taking part. I don't know how to put this without upsetting some one/group or other but here goes. I'm not interested in taking my scooby round a track with a bunch of nutters who don't give a **** about their cars or anyone else. I want to track with people that take pride in their cars and respect others. That said I think make is unimportant, but perhaps the cars should be balanced in terms of performance? Or do the track day gurus think that that is unimportant?

The RSOC - who Lee said he didn't want - hold the 4th and 8th? fastest times round Bedford? Engines alone are worth more than most Scoobs plus they are track veterans.

MLR -I know Tony has signed up - his car is worth A LOT more than most Scoobs - track day veteran.

Our XTR Westie - is worth more than a retail priced STI7 - waddya think us lot are gonna do?

Chris - dunno why you feel you need to resign? You've jumped into SIDC with all this cr4p to deal with. Not your fault - you can help change it tho.
