To all those affected by the attacks......our thoughts are with you
I started this thread to let people show their support towards those affected and to briefly sum up how I felt, so please use it to do just that. Leave the reports and speculations to other threads........
It all makes our own problems sobering small when you see a disaster of this scale. So many innocent lives.......

I was watching ther news with my brother last night when Ashleigh, my two year old neice pointed at the telly and said " Broken", I couldn't help but think even she understood just how serious it is.

I first visited the US, in June last year. I fell in love with New York.
Right now my heart is with the people of New York and throught the United States.
Your strength will carry you through.

Agreed, probably the saddest day in my life. I have shed a tear or two already after seeing the pictures and thinking of the poor innocent people who lost their lives.
What scares me now is what the US will do, my mates brother is in LA and he phoned him to say the place has gone mad and people are gearing up for war.

echo your thoughts michelle....
putting my boy to bed last night (nearly 4), why did those planes fly into those walls dad???, I couldn't answer logically... what happens when you die daddy??...gulp... bas*ards, every one of the casualty list will be innocent civilian just doing a job... and then I read that 330+ emergency sevices are now unaccounted for too...those trying to do nothing more than help other people.
There are some sick people in this world...I don't care nothing is worth that, and then you see the people in afganistan or wherever it is, including children, jumping around the street, waving flags and cheering...what a society... hard not to think of revenge isn't it??
My thoughts are with all those poor people....

Its shocking that this sort of terrorism can happen in a world that is so hi tech
but the casualties are those who have lost their loved ones
Ive seen terrorism first hand (back in the days i was in Northern ireland) but this is on a scale never seen before and hopefully will never be seen again
those innocent victims that terrorists always take are the ones that our heartfelt sympathies go out to, along with their friends and families
I think the japanese once summed it up after the attack on pearl harbour, (or words to this affect) "have we made a great victory or just woken a sleeping bear"
Deepest sympaties to all

In everybody's life certain event touch you like no other. I know in mine things like Aberfan, Dunblane, Diana's death appear surreal and unbelievable. It's as if the enormity of the event is too big for our brains to take in. Who in their wildest nightmares could have predicted this. Truly the world will never be the same again !! Who amongst us will ever travel on a plane again without today coming to mind.
Words cannot hope to comfort those people involved in this tragedy but all we can do is say that there are millions and millions of us out here who abhor this sort of thing and just want people to live a life of relative peace.

My Mum and Sister had a table booked next Tuesday in the Restaurant on the 110th Floor, and was ment to fly out tomorrow.
My deepest sympathies go to the people and families envolved with what must be the most tragic event in my life time.
May the terrorists who did this get their comupance.
Seeing the film footage of the planes crashing in to the twin towers is surreal. Its horrific to think the amount of lives lost to what must be a sad cause.
Im off to bring the Union Jack to 1/2 mast at my Hotel.

we here in the states feel it even across the country from NY... i am in Seattle, yet i feel absolutely affected!!
sad, angry, confused.
i think most of us all around the world feel this way...
but it's nice to know that we are one with our thoughts and our prayers... i know God is listening.
peace be with you all.

Problem is many of us live in a Global Village. My boss was staying in the Marriott, 3 hours before we heard he was ok. He walked out of the building just as the plane flew into it...... we waited for news of our NY office as well....
My old boss lost friends.........a lot of his town were traders, many at Cantors.....
At one stage rumours were abound that a plane was flying from Amsterdam, target Canary Wharf, so the fear for ourselves was real as well.
But this is not the world today, it is very very sadly the same old world recycling the same old problems, from the Romans through the 1st and Second World Wars to Bosnia. The scariest thing about yesterday though was the enemy had no face.
