I turned up at Kemble at around 3pm and somehow managed to get interviewed for the latest Duke video on Skylines/Track days

The Supra sounded v.sweet.

Cool

was at trax today, supras sounded/went well, but looked a bit chestwig and medallion IMHO, no offence to anyone ok
bit dissappointed that there wasnt any skylines on the track, i think there was a gts, but no r33 gtr's going for it( although i may have missed em, didnt get there till 1pm).
mind you , i will console myself drinking tea out of my new r33 mug, looking at my r33 mousemat, and playing cops and robbers with my diddy toy r33 and r33 cop car
the shopping was ok
i will go again next year, and the skyline is coming with me. went in my girlfriends evo, jeez i cant wait till i get my skyline back, i still dont like evo's.
mind you, watching the scoobys go round the track made me VERY nostalgic. if i win the lottery i will have both

bet yer cant wait ian
i will have to find out where more skyline meets are in future. someone mentioned kemble, any ideas where that is?
you'll have to give us your tiff needle style verdict when you get it. is it your only car? or will you be using a different one for work.
did see a fair few supras there, but it just reinforced my opinion on the skyline

Yeah, there was a big Skyline trackday at Kemble on SATURDAY.

Kemble is an airfield/track just outside Cirencester.

By all accounts, the GTR boys weren't too happy with the circuit as it was narrow (hardly room to overtake) and too twisty.

I went past the Kemble Track-Day Skylines. Looked like they were having a blast - Literally!

I was on my way to Castle Coombe for the Classic & Sportscar day.

Best car of the day? Black/Purple(ish) R34GTR known to Scoobynutter and worked on by the guys at Hiteq.

This fella was overtaking bike engined Westfields, etc. - On corners!!

Just loved the way he went flying through Camp Corner (near the paddock) at what I thought was an astonishing rate - Only to REALLY give it some, kick the back end out and then rearrange space/time!!!

Lot of money spent, but much faster and more individual than a 911.

Yes lads I picked her up last night!!

Dark blue met 97 GT-R33 V Spec with a few mods, lowered springs (too low for my liking but not as stiff as V spec), ARC air box, G-Reddy Boost controller and steel Turbo pipes, high performance brake pads, Jasma decat'd exhaust and bigger FMIC, stage 1 ECU(390 BHP claimed). All to be confirmed by Abbey Motorsport next week.

No real view as yet, I want the mods checked out before I start to play.

Keep you posted.

I'm based in the Midlands but will travel pretty much anywhere for a meet.

Last night I was driving along the A5, the cabin noise, body roll and ride suggested I wasn't going that fast, until I looked at the speedo

Because the car is so firmly sprung, any bump at speed is evened out almost immediately by the suspension, rather than wallowing like my Scooby did.. That and the 6-speed box would make 100mph seem like 50mph. It's a terrific ground coverer (shame I get 15mpg but hey, what price fun?)

i'm in north essex(colchester area)
any sunday with a bit of notice would be cool

oh, and by the way, add sump pan extention, forged pistons, hp oil pump to the mod list
conservative estimate of approx 550+ bhp, but we will have reliable power. i want to get into 1/4 mile stuff, but the car needs to be able to go to sainsburys aswell, if yer know what i mean
i agree david, 100mph in a skyline feels slooooowwwww

a few of the guys on gtroc are talking about an essex meet too.i work mon-sat, and just waiting to complete on my house move. i will know better early next week if that date is ok.also, because of the extra work im getting done on top of the mods, i HOPE my gtr will be ready by that date, again, i will try and get a better idea next week. if alls well, i would definately be interested.
would be nice to get scoobys and skylines in one place. i would love to go to bentwaters(?spelling) but its on a saturday, and that is one day i can never take off
are there any trackdays coming up in the essex area?
