Sheesh!! why dont you all go running home to your mommies and tell her someones picking on your car cause its ugly!!

Only joking, lol, couldnt resist, fact of the matter is, it aint gonna win no beauty contests, and the percentage of people that cpould actually say it looks good and mean it is very low, it is simply an ugly car, and if you're the beholder, get your eyes checked.

Nice thou, very quick, and a good car, so I understand why it sells, but the fact remains, you cant defend the obvious.

I recon we should get a group of sexy models to look at the old and new models, and give their decisions on which they like, after which, they accompanie me to my room, and.....ahem, anyway, enough clowning around.

hi Pops here to put in his tuppence worth.

Personally the bugeye is about as appealing as Charlie Dimmock on a hangover. Its repulsive. And you guys know it!

Just compare the 22B to say a UK300, there's no contest watsoever. Best thing to do is sell sell sell you're bugeye as it will depreciate faster than Julian Clary's ar**hole.

Mate of mine has a Sport he's selling. Wants around 16 grand on a P plate. Now thats a car.

The Don has spoken and is back

new fugly takes 17-18 seconds to get to 100(new STI 7 excluded, although that's not mega quick).....that point alone would seal it for me.....

literally walked passed my bosses new shape (old bug eye) in the car park whilst looking for it, yet classic shapes stand out a mile....

the recent threads of saxo vts, honda vtr's etc etc classed in the same category as a scoob for performance is laughable to be honest..

need I say any more it's a bit of a laugh this anyway, so many of you new shape owners stand by these cars & I don't know why. The current car you own is directly proportional to the money you earn...this is how I see it:

scoob
evo
skyline
porker 911 C4

all IMO of course

Ha ha. Gotta value the opinion of hawkeyed commentators confused by a Proton.

I was following a bus the other day and the engine bay vents were absolutely ridiculous. Then I realised it wasn't even a Volvo at all.

I think I speak for the rest of the UK not on this bbs when I say, no-one gives a damn what you think.

But please feel free, after all it is just IYHO.

You may think that, I don't and I don't think that 100% of the rest of the UK not on this bbs would appreciate you representing their viewpoint without asking first

All these owners of the FUGLY know they have been shafted and are sitting on/in something with all the appeal of a cow-pat .. they would ALL sell if they could, we all know that - Ever been had boys?

All IMHO of course!!

Just going out to let the crowds gathered around my CLASSIC have a stroke!

LOl very funny Lewis. Class wind up merchant.

Totally agree bug eyed owners must need their eyes testing. Maybe they've always fantasized about protons?? Same goes for the Evo7. About as appealing as toothache.

Pete,

I bet when you pull into your road you handbrake turn your 'classic' into a group of dustbins and empty boxes, throw open your car door and roll over your bonnet shouting 'guvner'. All this in front of a crowd of admiring schoolies.

I envy you.

IMHO..........

"it has grown on me" i have never bought a car i didnt like the look of. You either like a car or you dont, forget this nonsesne that the bug eye looks have "grown on you", because youll be exactly the same type of person that will ditch the bug eye as quick as a flash when the next model is released and will be far more pleasing to the eye.

Hey, Pete... why don't you just get off your computer and go drive your car?

If you don't like it, don't buy one. What are you trying to prove by winding up others (who obviously like their cars or wouldn't have bought them.) Frankly who cares what you think? You sound just like those Lancer owners over on the Lancer register trying to compensate for their inadequacies.

Obviously, you are out looking for a reaction - so there you go.

For what its worth though, I have an STI7, and like the look, especially the lights. IMO the base WRX lights are a bit less appealing, but still, the old (or is that old, old) shape is looking a bit dated now, too. And I have to agree with the "boy racer" comment - unfortunately here in NZ, there are too many "max power" modded imprezas so the newer shape gives a bit of uniqueness.

I have checked out the photos of the new "blobeye" shape and I don't think its that much of an improvement - just different - and not different enough for me to go "oooh, I want one" and change my car for one.

So, there you go - wind up successful - but how about posting details of what you drive?

BRR - I drive a 'Classic' MY00 in DBM and in the looks department it knocks the Bug-Eye out the window IMHO!!

It is also a lot faster as you know the FUGLY is the equivalent of Dawn French in the weight stakes whilst the Classic is 'Twiggy' - come to think of it - the Bug-Eye is also as funny as Dawn French!!!!!

You KNOW you MUST sell your FUGLIES - or face a decade owning a car no-one wants!! I have seen Scorpios dumped because no-one wants them, they had all the toys but the were UGLY!! Not as Ugly as the last Impreza granted but they were ugly nonetheless!!

I saw both a Scorpio and a Granada today. The Granada was beaten up, driven by the UK equivalent of Trailer Trash and worth about tuppence. Whilst the Scorpio looked quite regal, I'd pick my Mum up in it.

just for info guys from autoexpress yesterday
they like the bug eye sti which they have had on road test for 15,000 miles.
"lot to be said for its radical appeal"
"recieved plenty of admiring glances" "lot to be said for the radical bewinged machine"
"liked blend of practicality and muscle" Didn,t like cabin rattles and fuel consumption
of the 03 they said "looks more convential less likely to divide opion" (they obviously dont read scoobynet )

So thats it then if you like the classic and 03 you are a slipper wearing pipe smoking conservative. If you like the bug eye you are a radical hip fashion icon. Not arf mate !
Dons flame suit and retires to drive car.

pete lewis gets afforded a lot of respect for someone who spouts the biggest load of garbage ever on any issues, be it uk vs import values, depreciation, the neverending desirability of old scoobs....

Red face

LOL @ all this.

Lets be honest, no Scoob is going to win the beauty contest

IMHO the STI7 Prodrive style looks great, in an agressive, in your face kind of way. A standard silver or DBM MY01/02 just looks dull.

MY00 and prior cars do now look dated, although retaining an "attitude" the non STI MY01/02 cars lack.

Oh, and nothing looks better than a 22B

And for those who could have bought 5 "old style" cars but wanted the latest model WRX...ROFLMAO...

Every one of those 5 would be noticably faster accelerating than your MY01/02 car.

Don't know what did it for you guys, but it was the shove in the back for the money thrills that sold me on an MY99. Thats just not there anymore in the MY01/02 cars.

I'd put money on the fact that the mags wouldn't be writing about a 0 to 60 in 6.5, O to 100 in 17 fast hatch on the same page as a "classic"

Changed days.

D

It's all a matter of personal taste........or lack of it! I'm not a big bugeye fan myself but then I probably wouldnt like your bird either, or the wallpaper in your hall and certainly not your taste in pants!

Surely the point (IMHO) is that we all enjoy the same view looking out over a scoop with the revs rising heading for the countryside?!

wanna see what an ugly car looks like? take your pick: -

oh almost forgot.........classics 4 ever!!!!!
