Hello @ll got my car back now with a new engine and a gearbox rebuild replacing 1st,3rd,4th & reverse. Total cost afaik was £7000! :O

I will post some pics up in the next few days with my new Digi camera.

Looking good on the RB5 info front tho, lots of new numbers coming in and i think that we should maybe all chip in and register www.RB5.com, making a flash site with a normal HTML one along side. Who is up for helping me? Art work will be needed as well so any art work or RB5 related stuff on your computers please send to me : gavinrdownes@hotmail.com

is there a RB5 club cos i was looking and cant find one, was also looking at starting one up.

 

I'm sure there was a guy on here trying to sell RB5.com after he smashed his RB5 up, last year. Not sure what his name was though ??

So what would be the purpose of this site ?

Organising a meet for all RB5's is kinda what I was thinking as well.

I think that would be amazing to do.

Unfortunately, I'm not very techy minded with pc's but I'll support the proposed website in whatever way possible (I'm good at the moral support/shouting orders at people type of stuff! hehe).

I owned #386 (non WR) until October 2002. It was sold by Listers......Dunno where it is now......I've not seen it since. Perhaps the new owner might see this thread.

Great response for the web-site then.

The main purpose will be a sort of register where we can all register our cars and perhaps RB5's we once owned. The numbers are the biggest thing. It would be nice to get at least 50%. The other thing we could do is have an RB5 brochure online in PDF format so ppl can download and view. Must be good quality of course so if someone has one scan it in with the best quality u can achieve that would be great.

We could put members cars on there as well with listing of modifications and pictures. Good things to do to the cars, obviously keeping it as RB5 specific where possible might also be another idea.

If time is spent on the site making it nice then it wont look amature and ppl might actually stay and look around the site rather than gettin miffed cause its crap then closing browser window. Any input will be worthwhile wether it is things to download/pictures/reviews on the car when it came out....anything to do with the RB5. Does anyone know if Richard Burns owns one? Useful information like that will make it worthwhile i think.

Flash sites take time to get right, which is the only downfall. So if someone fancies doing or helping me with the HTML first then we can go ahead and register www.imprezarb5.com!

Let me know as i dont want to put all this effort in and then find its a complete waste of time.

I heard from a friend he watched stars and their cars very recently or some programme like that and it featured Richard Burns and indeed he does still own an RB5 unfortunately i dont know which number but a good guess would probably be #1 or #5??
I think he also said he has a P1.

 

i have the rb5 brochure all scanned in already and also have a pdf of the my99 part brochure that has the prodrive packs etc and part numbers

how much will the site cost then?

wot sort of web space will it have?

i think its about 40 rb5's accounted for now
