ok seeing as ur all rb5 owners, i have an ICE question.

the rear shelf speakers are still standard (i have changed the fronts with a component set, sounds better as originals were pants and blown!!!)

i had a quick look at what could replace them but didnt get much idea.

anyway have any of u changed urs (reason i ask is that we have solid bulkheads and other people will give me advice that wont apply to me)

if u have, wot speakers have u used and did they fit straight in or did u have to modify the shelf holes to fit them.

also, how the hell do u get to em to change them in the 1st place??? do u have to take all the rear seat out??

Already changed my rear speakers! I used Pioneer 6X9's and had to butcher the rear shelf thingy a bit to get them in. Tight fit on the boot spring and tensioner though but dont actually rattle, so its ok.

I had to take the rear plastic cover off both sides (one that adjoins the roof) and take the carpet up on the shelf itself. Quite easy but could be a pain. You also have to take out seats, both parts. Well thats what i did anyway. I then drilled the correct places for the speakers and fitted them.

Hope this helps!

wow boot build looks gr8 m8, not much space left tho, i need the space for the weekly food shopping

the crossovers on mine were hotglued to the metal door panel and i also glued the tweeter to it so that it was behind the 'air vent' by the door handle pull, the mids were a nightmare to find cos i wanted direct replacements but also gave decent sound.

I tried about 15 different makes, some were too deep and fouled the window, some to wide and some just didnt sound any good.

i think i found a JBL set that were perfect, cant remember now

i didnt want to ruin the door cards, especially as one was brand new!!!

The Infinty 605 CS fit straight in the front doors and the back parcel shelf just fine. No need to cut the parcel shelf or door panels. I removed the solid bulk head (which is sure a **** take) and metal bar and a piece of black carboard like material. I used a nice piece of MDF to mount in the space left cut about 1/2 inch larger and bolted this behind the rear seats. The amps are screwed to this in the boot. I would have taken a picture, but am to ashamed now looking at the other ICE install

I have a stealth box for da bass and so far I've very impressed.....To remove the parcel shelf is a ******* job. You must remove the two rear a pilliar plastic things. If you unclip them at the bottom and pull into the centre of the car, you should then have the clearance. The parcel shelf is then held in with four plastic clips. Simply pull the shelf away from the car body.

I did find that after fitting the speakers and re-assembling, i thought I had a blown speaker, that turned out to be the rear shelf moving and flexing with the bass. This was resolved with a nice blob of silicon sealer

Question

Hello guys,

I was thinking of setting up an RB5 register. It'll just be a website where we can all post picks of our RB5's and stuff like that, does anyone think that it would be a good idea, or should I not bother?
