Shunty: laffed at your bit about pronunciation of names without the "T". We get that here too, as well as the end letter off almost every word missing. If you ask a kid round here what town he lives in, the answer will be "Scunnor'"
My two are Mark and Gary--two names the kids at school can do nothing evil with!

I knew of a girl who decided they liked the name of the ex American football playing, wife murdering chappy Simpson. (Just to give you and idea about this girl - t'was her third child by a third different father....) Rather than call it Oranthal James, shortening to O.J. (the bit she liked the sound of......
....she called it Oj.
I kid you not.

Used to know a guy called Slade, i was named after one of the Beatles although the story goes it was a toss up between Paul and Ringo, i think i got off quite lightly!
Probably an urban myth but here goes
The owner/founder of the Lear Jet companies daughter is named Crystal Chanda Lear
Girkl i was working with took a call, asked 'who it was' reply Mike Hunt - she fell into fits of giggles and put the phone down. She later phoned him back and apologised to which he said 'I get that alot'

When I was at school I hated my name - now I like it 'cos it's different. The only problems I have now is that with the Hull accent when they say "'phone" it's sounds like "fern", and also I get the pi$$ taken 'cos me sisters name is Heather. My Mother still pleads inocent with this and says she didn't realise until I was 4 and my sister was 1 and her old police sergeant told her that we sounded like a herbacious border.
I also work with a bloke called Mike Hunt and (this is the best one and it's gods honest truth) a girl called Jenny Taylor! (think about it)

My first son will be called Valentino (Tino for short) and the Mrs has agreed. She has an unusual name and beleives that it's done her more good than harm, so it was an easy victory.
It was either that or Barry or Randy or Wayne

I know a "Helen Highwater", which makes me chuckle.
As does a lass called Sailah in our office. "Hello Sailah". etc.
We have a Randy Koch working in our Oakland office, and I know Frank Fuchs. (Which, upon mentioning his name, it is now the law to say "oh does he?")
It's things like these that keep the days a little shorter

I always wanted to have a son and call him Dansak...after the curry.
I also knew of someone called Drew Peacock, poor git. We also have a customer called Paul Mycock , which could be a useful name.

And we also used to have a list of bogus names that the new statrted was asked to call up including the Jenny Talyor, some dude from a Chuch, you know Mr B Leaver.

I had a flat next to Cherry Orchard many years ago.
You see some good ones if you work in a hospital, among our favorites:
Manganita Bustamante
Iona Dick
Will Barrow
More when I remember them.
You get some good spoof ones on Wogan, 8am weekdays

Maybe there's two of them
PS: Toltec -- there's a fairly well known company called Wayne Kerr Electronics.
