I agree, sending a laptop like that was not particularly sensible- looks a bit suss to me.

Was it weighed when it was originally posted? If so, they would have made a note of this and then you can check it against the the weight of the box. And this will vouch (or not) whether the laptop was originally in there or stolen in transit.

Well..having looked at that........ I would be very unhappy. Should there or was there any padding around the laptop??

I can then offer my opinion.......

Driving machine..having read the thread and waited. It is only fair to hear your opinion on what we ( Other scooby net members, who might have been the buyer of your computer.)might think when faced with this photograph. As always I believe that they (Parcel force) are responsible for the safe delivery of anything you send.

Hey guys,

Just thought i`d stick my 2p in here. A whilst back I sent some front grills to folk on this board.
All very well packed, labelled etc etc. Even paid additional insurance on them as they were prototypes. Guess what ?????
Yeah the same company allegedly delivered them to where they were meant to be but no one was there to sign for them, so the person delivering decided to sign for the parcel and allegedly left the parcel at the delivery address
I had no problems with the claim though & I believe the delivery person got their jotters (IMHO served the thieving git right).
What am I saying then ?
When you make the claim DM push to find out what happened to the laptop, cause we all want to be able to send stuff 2 each other and be confident that no thieving low life is gonna nick it en-route.
(off soap-box now)

Just for the record I've used Parcel Force loadsa times and always found them to be good [now touches wood]
but I've always ensured that what ever I send is properly boxed up accordingly.

Looking at the state of that box in the photo I'm amazed it was even accepted by Parcel Force in that condition

I'd blame the vendor for sending it in such a poor condition.

Bob

The question is did he actually send it like that or once the delivery company 'nicked' the stuff did they leave it like that??? When i worked for Sony a lot of stuff was sent via couriers to and from different Sony Centres and this happened a couple of times.... the parcel was sent boxed up nice and neatly and arrived like it had been in a war with the stuff missing out of it. The guys at the other end always checked it before it was signed for tho!!!!!!!!!!!!! (there's a moral to that story.... can you find it ).

I'd say DM needs to get a claim in quick and then get the Money back to the purchaser.

Tony.

yes, im in the process of doing that, everytime i ring the damn company im kept in a queue for more than an hour! I'll get it sorted

BTW the laptop was in the padded carrying case and put into that box, which was then closed up nice and tight. I definitly didnt send it like that.

who are you to accuse someone of hijacking?

you stuck your beak in this the minute it turned sour.

on a lighter note i feel sorry for both parties, personally i would make all correspondence off line.

that keeps you, yoda, me, and all other nosey tw@ts out of the loop.

edit :large ooops/apology to luke - I missed the wink!

2p.

This is not the way to do buisiness .....After all this time it should have been resolved. The money should be returned and claimed on insurance.

I am going to take the side of MotomC1 in this matter..after all this time.
Unless driving machine can prove that a load of tape has been removed etc. If it was just sent in that box with no tape..Then hard luck. Return the money, make a claim and next time pack it better.

the one full of **** is u moto, if u recieve a package u check it before signing for it, if u cant be arsed doin that then u shouldnt cry when things go wrong.

Anyway, the company rejected my claim because u put one in first and mine has been rejected as a duplicate claim. Ive spoken to them and theyre gonna send me another claim form, which was supposed to arrive last week. So stop trying to put the blame on me, and wait, theres nothing more i can do.

and luke mj's right, keep out of it, and mind ure own business, got nothing better to do than put your snide little comments in. How exactly do u want me to prove that it was taped? full of ****, maybe u should use ure brain and think before u post messages.

As soon as i get the money from the parcel company, it will be sent to moto thats the bottom line.

its none of my business either but other scoobynetters need to be aware of this situation

driving machine should refund motomc1 NOW

its not the fault of motomc1 that the laptop went missing is it?
if the box had been sealed properly this wouldnt have happened would it?
it must have been an opportunist who saw the box wasnt secured and had a look inside and bingo he hits the jackpot
had it been sealed the contents would have been kept secret

so driving machine PAY UP and stop making excuses

I dont doubt you didnt have any trouble with driving machine
he's not gonna rip one of his own mates off is he?

your BOTH in manchester and BOTH just happen to use Yahoo for your email
your either his mate or your the same person and as such your opinion is biased

and you posted too soon to be anything other

just admit you were wrong and pay moto his money
he should NOT have to wait for the parcel company to pay up
its down to you to refund him so be a man and do it

Driving machine
Good and fair point..maybe it should have been checked... But how many of us open a parcel to check whilst the guy is waiting for it to be signed for???

It is my buisiness... I might have been in this position as I wanted to buy the laptop.

I am not doubting that others have found you to be ok etc .But in this case you have not said the parcel /box was taped shut. More folk would agree if this is true. And you have been asked... that was well stupid.

The claim can only be made by you Driving machine. But you should have returned the cheque etc by now..

Sure its gone wrong ,things happen..Life goes on..etc
