DW - I hear ya - cor yeah - she was looking fine!!

Have to say I don't like that much at all (the WRX) the first pic is attrocious, makes it look terrible. Well, guess I'll stick to the best out of the box model year (99) car I've got Hate to say it but I doubt my next car will be a scoob

Pretty bad, but thankfully not as absolutely grim as the previous model.

Let me guess,

BHP = Same
Weight = more
Sound deadening = more
Handling = understeer (ie mechanical centre diff, no AYC or equiv)
Price = more

Fantastic, in 3 models time it'll be a BMW 3 Series - but without the quality, residuals or RWD chassis.

It looks a mixture between a civic and a legacy.

Apart from the one above John, the only other is the wagon rear quarter view. Pity they are not the turbo version...

Have to admit I have hated the look of the newer Impreza since day one,but the new one looks miles better(although still not quite right).

Nah.

Still prefer my99

Interesting vid link of the show - looks like geezer on the right is "Giving it some LARGENESS" with the showbiz wave only to realise that the reaction from the audience was kack so he walks away to hide his shiny head

I have visited Prodrive and they explained that scoop on the WRC car is purely cosmetic, as the Intercooler is front mounted and the exit from it is the first vent on the bonnet. They dont even fit an STi7 scoop on just the Std small one to reduce drag.
Tony
The air intake/filter is actually right under the scoop! I could never figure this out. They are discharging heated air from the IC/radiator vent right into the air intake.

I like the new look. Seems almost skyline-ish the way the front bumps up and out forward.

The scoop is probably the defining feature of the Scooby, so they have to run with it, whether they need to or not. Until the road car gets a FMIC, the rally car will keep its scoop.

Well ok, maybe like a lot of current owners, I'm biased, but I still think that it takes a lot to beat the MY01 with the Morrette conversion:

The new car is certainly better than the bug eye. The improved interior, better suspension etc is also welcome. I'm worried that they made it look too much like a Legacy and looking at the side view, I'm still struggling with the car's lines from the front wheel arches forward - it doesn't quite seem right - to my untrained eye anyway.

I think the new rally car looks the dogs though

Looks like I've been posting on the wrong thread where everyone loves the new look.

Fully agree with Chris L, looks wise there is no improvement at all IMHO.

Does the 03 have 225BHP as opposed to 218BHP of the 01/02, if so, big deal.

I was very nervous leading up to the release of the 03, I'll sleep a lot better now they've actuall released the pictures

Wrong!!

The air intake is taken from a scoop mounted to the side of the FMIC, behind the headlamp extension on the right side of the car on the MY02 WRC car, the hood scoop is blanked off completely.

Well I prefer it to the bugeye, at least a headlight modification is no longer compulsary...

Prefer the slightly bland evo 7 though.

REAR LIGH CLUSTERS - WAGON !!!!!

Why have they kept one red fog and one reversing - looks crap -
is this Euro rules again ?

It's like having a clear indicator on the front on one side and a great big orange one on the other
