Have a regular set of lights at home where to55ers always try to race - I rev the engine, give them the eye, by which time they are looking more at me than the lights. Whe you have their full attention and lights still red, let the car jump a metre forward and the Nova boys will drop the clutch thinking yr off - then panic as they realise lights are still red and slam the anchors back on - excellent fun. Usually they are too embarrassed to even look at you.

In my 205 1.9 i've had a great, safeish, race with a scoob, him quicker on the straight, and me amazingly just as quick round corners -I think maybe he was new to his scoob??

My last car was a 205 1.9 and now have a new wagon. Scoob is much faster especially round twisty bits, pulling away and on wet roads. 205 just couldnt keep the power down. Both heeps of fun but WRX is definately the better car - well it should be they have had another 10 yrs or so to get it right

Hi again guys... Sorry I've been away for so long...

DavidW, that was one of the most helarious stories I've read for a while !!!

If you guys hate tailgating, you should come to Portugal (Bring your shotguns).

Most people here have 70bhp Fiats, and if they want to overtake anybody, they have to tailgate them for a mile, and make their move just after a corner. It's incredible how unsafe they can drive, and not it's become more a habit than a necessity. People ALWAYS drive too close to the guy in front, creating regular daily chain accidents (5-10 cars bump into eachother).

People here drive like car theives, and having a scoob doesn't help, since the Inferiority complex kicks in, and they try to push you. Depending where they do it, I either push a little and fly off, or guive them space to overtake (Ok, this happens less frequently). If it's not the inferiority complex, it's the curiosity of "I want to know how fast that thing goes". But most people find an excuse for pushing a scoob.

Lucky me I have a Sport Wagon, wich attracts a lot less attention. Most people only recognise it's a scoob because of the Intercooler breather on the front, wich the tailgaters dont ever see, but still it's sometimes anoying. With time, you learn to live with it, and not be anoyed be those to55ers. Either guive them space, or leave them on the spot, but don't let yourself be drawn into a fight. They're not worth it !

Cheers

Rui

My wife thinks her 172 is quite a Q car as well. Looks like a "normal" clio from the back / side unless you can read the Renault Sport (but then they make a 1.2l sport as well) the only indication really is the 2.0l16V on the black plastic side protectors.

Especially pi$$es off drivers who have no idea what they are. Especially when they try and out brake you !

This works best if you can time it so that they drop the anchors just as your light turns green. They usually get a number of beeps from behind for sitting at a grenn light to add to embarrasment.
