Nova thinks his car is all seeing and all dancing, hes probably spent 10k (including car) to get 250bhp out of it (i dont count no2 as you run out of it), Andy F spent 10k including buying his subaru and gets nearly 400bhp out of it (391bhp on a warm day )
So whats the point?
You can throw loads of money and have an undrivable car or you can spend the same money and have a car that drives much better/handles better/goes quicker/stops faster etc
I doubt if nova gets that but basically if your car has serious torque steer then you have totally f**ked it up and its not really something you should boast about cos it shows you that your not very good at tuning cars

p.s. NOS is a cheating way of producing real power i could whack on a 1000bhp nos kit and instantly say i have a 1400bhp evo so there....

Mate try putting nearly 600 bhp through your car...

it would pull the chassis apart - rather than just blowing a diff!

I see no comments about the skylines though... worried your little 250bhp baked bean tin couldn't 'quite' beat that?

Also - just thinking - you must actually have the fastest FWD car in the UK as the guy with the maestro turbo can't beat that time and he wins virtually every FWD class there is.

Nos you say you can have most impreza's on the road but you will need to exceed 70mph till you really start to put the power down! So, given this is the legal limit anywhere in the country how often will you do this. Over short roundabout races even standard scoobs will have you as you struggle for traction. Just as you start to get into your stride you'll have to consider braking earlier and loose more ground. The only time your going to have scoobs is on the 1/4 mile or where you really get a chance to stretch your legs and I would of course advise you that by going over 70mph you are braking the law and will probably have to walk everywhere you go eventually! In 80% of scenarious even a standard 215bhp Impreza would have yours.

Ok, let the thread come to an end, you cannot change this guy's mind, he's into the "jap-crap-i'm-a-racist" stuff and we ain't gonna change his mind that's why he cannot live with the fact that in just a few years the Impreza became a legend unless his Nova will never become one.

By the way, this video, what car was it then that drove *behind* the Impreza? The Impreza didn't even accelerate, I couldn't see any front lift....

jesus christ, i can't believe the hostility of people on this board. the snobbery makes me ashamed to be a scooby owner, and i guess i now understand why people take the **** out of scooby owners for being such ******.

personally, NOS Nova, hats off 2 u 4 beating the scoob in a straight line. and hats off to the fiat coupe who pisses all over me every morning on my way to work. **** happens guys, just accept it!

Woah, don't put me in the same group as NOS Nova guy, I don't agree with him, I was just sticking up for the Nova ( someone has to! ).

NOS Nova : I'd be very surprised if you got into the high 13s, let alone what you're saying it can do. I've seen valver Novas struggle to get into the 15s, let alone 12s. The sad fact of the matter is that the only sorta range your Nova is going to out perform any Scoob turbo, if at all, is the mid range. Off the mark you're not going to stand a chance, what with Subaru's AWD system. Top end you're going to struggle too, what with your car having the aerodynamics of a bungalow. To the average Joe in the street, your car is also 'just' a Nova. I'm one of the sad people who actually like Novas, and at cruises I'd rather look at a clean 1.3SR with some nice wheels, solid rear arches and a slam, than a standard Impreza Turbo, 'coz let's face it, they're rather, erm, boring now. ( Of course, all that changes as soon as a piston dump valve, 5" exhaust, 17s, a nice drop, under bonnet mods like an anti-lag system, mmm, Scooby noise ).

I'd be very interested to hear the tech spec of these Minis that had '200bhp' from an A-series. I know of only one definate who broke the 200bhp barrier from the A-series, and that needs a rebuild every 3 months.

Anyway, I can't remember the point of me replying now, sorry for waffling. Also I'm not a Subaru hater, far from it infact...I just enjoy a good discussion, without resorting to this name calling, and 'A *enter car here* is **** ', I mean, what does that achieve? Except showing that you can't communicate, that is.

I not some fool that expects to win every race I have. I find myself sh1tting it when lined up against cars that really shouldn't be a problem. I'll even hold my gears longer in case they go for it!! HELLO!! It's a turbo charged engine, there is no need for me to do that I'd only save about 0.1 of a second. The difference is I don't care if I get beat and I don't car if I win as long as all involved have good, safe fun. If I beat a standard 911 I'll be chuffed but will leave it with a friendly wave at said driver. Nothing more, nothing less. You non-impreza owners (rich-mini excluded) seem to have nothing better to do than to use the scooby as some sort of performance benchmark and then brag about it when you finally beat it. So friggin what!!??

you have a car that suffers from terminal torque steer, errrrrrm to me thats just someone who cant tune anything as if it were so perfect and could get its power down from the instant you went for it i would then be impressed, unfortunately yours doesnt thus im not impressed and you dont have a brain cell in your head to understand that flogging a dead (or rusty) horse is a waste of time (and you still havnt told us anything about your "make believe" car yet either except it has 250bhp and no2 )
