Was upper level B last year, now A- - - -
Cant pay myself much in the first year of my own business, and people seem to want everything for nothing these days. i.e. work my **** off for small fees.
Have to say though, I am much happier now, than when I was working in the B bracket.
Never known what it's like to be above middle B, and never will. Can only imagine, you lucky buggers.
That's with a Marketing HND, and Business Degree as well (2:1). If it weren't for the beer, drugs and women I would say uni is a waste of time

A few more questions....those of you on F and above what would you put it down to....
1.Working very hard+long hours
2.Choosing the right proffession early on and just sticking with it
3.Just having a natural talent at your chosen job.
Most people who i know who are successful its either one,or a combination of those three

Started working in IT 6 years ago for GEC Marconi working on the design of command systems for submarines, sounds cool but **** boring.
Moved to It dept of large Pharma Company where I stuck it out for a year, after lots of unfillfilled promises decided to try my luck at Consulting. Moved into the SAP market and landed in a small company with big ideas. Climbed up the ladder and now fairly near the top rung.
More luck that judgement to get where I am , but second to few at actually doing the work required.

seriously, for me its all three, I started 10 years ago, i work 12 (often very stressful) hours a day and on the third point well i think so but some may disagree
also I definitely think being in the right place at the right time plays a very large part

I am on E!!
I work in the Telecomms sector and have worked for my last company for 12 years in September. I started at very close to the bottom (installer) and have worked my way up. Upto 6 months ago, I had a company MY00, but got rid of that (too much tax) I have a really stressful job, and wish I could go back and earn b /c bracket again
Cheers Phill C

Rallycol, have you made a typo there? Either that or you're being seriously shafted by the taxman I take home £33 less than you every month but I'm on 5K less pa Perhaps I should avoid talking to the taxman

No it does add up ,or in this case subtract,a big wedge is taken out in pension contributions, aswell as other incidentals that all add up,it's comforting to have a good pension but it dosn't pay for holidays ,or your mortgage now!
