The holes were perfectly in line.. but a two year old could have got them straighter.. Steven was not happy... also the thread pitch was wrong.. as std they use a fine thread this was 1.25 metric I think... Anyway had to go buy some new studs.. then drill the holes out... I then tack welded them in place... The tack welds then sheared... so I took the up-pipe back off and went up a power setting and fooking melted the *******s.. not neat at all but wont be moving...

Cheers David, the other pics would be grate at some point when you have time.

Well just come back from having the car mapped by Bob yesterday, and i am very very pleased. It feels so quick, and the extra lag does not take that much getting used to. It makes up for it when it comes on full boost.

Bob said that he had done a similar car to mine with the same turbo but no ported headers or up pipe, and mine spooled up much quicker.

Very very happy

Can i just say thank you once again to David, and Andy, for helping on Wednesday. It was a very long day, 9am to 1am, but i think we got alot done considering the additional hicup with the up pipe and my cheap spanners.

David, if you want a test drive it will have to be on Monday lunchtime, or sometime after work Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.

Steven

ps Done give in on your car, please!

Nick, you did say the right things, cheers.

Tim...the turbo is good. All hell breaks loose after 3800rpm.

Not running water injection at the mo, soon will be for safety!

Boost is peaking at 1.3bar and settling at 1.25bar.

Got wheelspin in 3rd tonight after coming off a roundabout in second, changed to 3rd in a straight line and wheelspin

Thumbs up

Sounds like it's coming in a little later than mine, but then again no two cars are the same

What amuses me is the way my car (used) to charge for the red line after about 4.5k rpm, if you weren't watching things your on the limiter before you can blink!

Currently scrimping the pennies togehter to get a nice gear set from Mark to increase the surge in 3rd and 4th purely for track use of course...

Hello peeps, was thinking of doing this to mine and wasn't to sure about the make of FMIC to get. I thought of just getting the improved TMIC from APS but all these problems you mention are making me think against it. I have a standard RB5, only thing changed is Downpipe and air filter. I'm on a mission to get more power out of my measly engine so any advice you can give would be amazing.

I have about £2000 to spend and need to know where i start on the moddifying list. Brakes are sorted by godspeed so no worries there. Was thinking of going Apex-i/ECUTEK ECU and better turbo. Not wanting loads of lag a smaller one just a bit bigger than standard would be better, am i right?

As i said before, any advice on experiences good or bad and what to do with the money to get the best stuff would be great!

Thanks

Gav
