Elvington 27th October 2002
Does that mean you wont be going to Elvington tomorrow then?
I'm not sure if I am at the moment. Im meeting dogmaul tonight for some beers and will be taking him back to York tomorrow, and might go to the track, but I'll have 2 year old in the back of the car as wife is at work - not much fun if hes shouting at me "dont like it Daddy want to go home"
If its pissing down I wont bother at all, sad muppet that I am.

So which one were you Steve? I was in the P reg green 4 door with gold alloys, with the little lad in the back. I arrived about 11:30 ish and finally parked up on the corner of the fence leading towards the food hut. Some guys in a blue scoob followed me in..neither of us paifd cos the guy was too busy hiding from the rain, but we only ended up seeing about 10 races before it was all stopped...
I also waved at who I think was Alan Bell with the peppermint 4 door and his wife waved back

It never really got started. A few runs were done, but the wind kept blowin the timing gear over, so it was cancelled. Weather picked up later on tho, but too late. A shame really, but we cant control the weather.
Next year.......
Next year.......
for all who turned up, and paid to run but didnt get many in, you will get 1/2 price entry on the next event there which will be 17th nov apparently, or at one of next years events, just hang onto your tickets. i'll put the dates up on here for you.
they ran in the wet no probs but the gale force winds kept destroying the timing gear set up, and at 12noon the local radio posted a gale warning within 2 hrs, so he unfortunately had to abandon, for the first time which was a shame.
there were actually a few good times done early on even when it was raining!
thanks to all who turned up, and see you at the next one or next year.

Hey Guys I enjoyed the event apart from the wind and the heaving rain.
I only ran six times today, here are four of the 1/4 mile results:-
1) 14.81 secs @ 90mph
2) 15.48 secs @ 89mph
3) 14.47 secs @ 94mph
4) 14.13 secs @ 101mph
I think that's pretty good for my first time ever and taking into consideration the weather conditions.
Nice to meet you Razz shame I didn't have a bit crack for a while longer and to the other Scoob owners.
Did I look O.K.? I saw that everyone was spectating on the left hand side as I spun away.
The scariest moment for me was trying to get a top speed, I
pulled out @ 120mph because I thought it was too dangerous. I had the windscreen wipers on full and the wind was pushing me to the left a bit...
Will hopefully see you guys the next time around, although I'll probably be driving a Golf Diesel by then. Anyway you know who I am by the no. plate on my car.
My mate was gutted because he's just had a RaceLogic traction control unit fitted on his UK 6-speed Supra and it hasn't been calibrated correctly therefore he couldn't drive in the conditions today with the TC switched off.
Did everyone have a good laugh at my 15" stock alloys?? Well I'll be putting my Gold Speedlines back on tomorrow night after work.
See Ya's for now..
Cheers

P.s. Thanks again to the event organisers etc etc even though the weather wasn't too good.

Ricky, my boy LUUURVED the "red racing car". He was stood on the passenger seat watching through the window and screaming at the top of his voice every time cars set off - but he particularly liked the "fancy red one" as he kept shouting and pointing

Terzo333 did you see the guy jumping out of the transit van? I "didnt" see him until I was well past and he didnt any effort to stop me - I thought he was just shouting to his mate to get him a bacon sandwich

Glad I left the bike at home. What a ****ty day. I was home by 1 after the weather took a turn for the worst.
Another attempt on the 17th November. (subject to top speed testing being there)

Pity it was such a cr@ppy day weather wise - would love to have come but unfortunately some of us have a shutdown to work on. I had a full run down by our 2 year old, James, about the fast cars and what colours they were. Don't quite know what Daddy (Raze-Buzz) did yesterday but was told on several occasions about "naughty Daddy". But I had the last laugh as James told me that Mummy makes the car go whoosh more than Daddy!!!!!!
Hi Brewster
Yes that was me with the MY00/STi IV type boot spoiler on
I also had the standard shatty 15" wheels on. (put the Gold Speedlines back on last night).
The car is totally standard apart from the Magnex back box. I must also say that I do look after my cars and have them serviced at the correct intervals. It's feels a lot quicker at the moment with the chilly air, well turbo's do run faster in colder weather
.
I was quite impressed with standing 1/4 mile of 14.18 seconds @ 101mph also. I think there's a bit of a debate on the Supra.Net as to wether the timing gear was out of calibration or something.
It was a bit scary when I tried for a top speed, although I pulled out @ 120mph because of the high winds. Safety First!!
I found out yesterday that the only car that beat me was actually a Audi S4 with 400BHP and not a standard 265BHP one.
Pity all the other cars were front wheel drive. They didn't have much chance with the initial take off.
What were you in Brewster as I can see your also from Northumberland.
Cheers

Hi Brewster,
Did your mates Saxo have clear rear clusters?
I also noticed a Red Rover 200 diesel with a 4" exhaust on which I noticed around the Northumberland area.
I'm also from the Ashington area.

No the saxo didnt have clear rear clusters, but it was lowered by 35mm, on the original wheels. Yeah there was a red rover diesel and a silver rover 200 aswell. We were all together, but I didnt know them, they were friends of a friend. I cant say I've ever seen your Scooby knocking about. You may have seen my mates, its a Dark Mica blue R reg wearing 16" 6 spoke gold alloys, with sti6 spoiler!?

I was ther as well! In a blue 97MY with gold wheels. I saw all your runs RickyD, and I must say me and the family were impressed with your car; you seemed to leave the opposition standing (especially the Type R)!! I wish i could of run, I was even being egged on by my missus and little girl, I just couldn't leave them standing outside in the heatwave - far too cruel!!
Hi Leeroy,
Was your Scoob the Terzo coloured one, if it was I did see you. It's my fav colour.
Yes I was also quite impressed with my results and efforts on Sunday. I also felt quite sorry for my girfriend, mate & his girlfriend standing in the rain. We left after the Cortina thing blew-up.
We return @ 3.30pm and there was nobody there.
You should have a go next year it's good fun
Cheers
