I didn't ask you DoddG! that's tiktok sticking his oar in.
And I did get the clue in the name thankyou - just didn't want to say incase of looking like a tw@t!
Don't forget you're only up the road [insert evil laugh here]

Going back to the world of sanity, I can profer some info about the dump valves issue. I looked into this in great detail (cos I'd need two). Dump valves provide no real benefit if you are running less than 2 bar gauge (3 bar absolute) boost (29.4psi and 44.1psi respectively). I can send links to sites that go into the theory if required.
Rgds,
Dave
P.S. Yes, G's exhaust is loud. I just wish he could arrange to play golf a bit later in the mornings. I haven't slept past 7 a.m. at the weekend for montsh now

LOL Dave...and sorry too !
The zorst is a TSL Firestorm (I guess that's where the thunder noise comes from !) and yes, binning the cats makes it louder, breath better, and of course, increases the horses and torque... all very nice thankyou very much
Mark, should be about 9ish is that's ok - will call you around 8:30ish 2nite to confirm / arrange.

Glen - excellent, spk 2 u later.
Im thinking about getting a forge dump valve, not sure what boost its running at and an induction kit, it already got a paralell K N air filter, is it worth changing it? the car has been de-catted so ive been told, (cant get under it at the mo to confirm that)

Sorry another question, so ive been reading that imports are limited to 112mph, i dont really want to road test it as i like my license the way its is, is there any other way of telling before i go ahead and get it de-restricted?
Mark, not sure on the induction kit side of things...AFAIK they are not really recommended, perhaps Scott can pick that one up. As for the cats, we should be able to tell with a quick look under the car...happy to have a peek later.

Not something I'm aware of Mark (would suggest due to the age of yours, someone has probably already done so ??). I wouldn't know as I never go above the speed limit...
I noticed that Seaford was mentioned on here a bit - I go over there a fair amount but rarely see much...and they call Eastbo gods waiting room lol

Speed limit is set in 3 stages and controlled by the ECU
ECU Address 86C7 - 86C9
WRX's are set to 5A(h), 5B(h) and 59 (h)
Convert to decimal and multiply x 2 to give Kilometers Per Hour (Kph)
Then Multiply * 0.62 to give Mile Per Hour (Mph).
This converts to 113, 112 and 110Mph respectively.
UK cars have no Speed limit setting in the ECU
Prdrived UK cars are set to 170, 167 and 161Mph
Most importers tend to delimit the Car on arrival. This is done by attaching a crude device to the Speed Sensor that feeds the ECU. This will then cause the ECU to see a false reading.
If your's speed limits at 112mph you have 2 options. Get a De-limiter fitted by an importer (price on Blitz UK website £94)
Or See me......
I can fit an adaptor to your ECU and remove the Speedlimit (or up the limit) in the ECU Code. Other changes can include raised boost, raised boost limit/fuel-cut, modified fuelling/timing etc...etc...
All for £45 maybe slightly more if an IC socket needs soldering to your ECU board.
