305 bhp on std ECU.........reasonable ? ; )

yep!
I'm sorting this out
Same problem with Christian R's car and also spookily RichiW who raised the boost to 1.6 bar, could not hold this level higher up the rev range - a Well Lane problem
The car is set to hold 1.4 bar in the upper rev range.......
Of course that may change at some point - if I can get back from America (I kinda live there now!)and sort simple things out like insurance and MOT!

I'm away on hols for the next Well lane day but I notice Alan G is on the list Alan is a regular at Star Performance so we'll see how his Well lane figures compare to Star's
What duration are the power runs at Well Lane ?

Pretty short blasts - compared to say PowerStation........
They are very similar to PE in the quick runs so not that much time for the temps to go through the roof....
AlanG - that will be interesting
Of course the number will be much lower - the further south you go the more realistic the number becomes.........
Until you reach the likes of chleltenham - I got only 330 bhp last time - paltry!!

Andy,
what car has Alan got - the comparison may not work - at for the ATW figure.
Looking at some other runs - low geared runs tend to produce much higher ATW figures - although the overall figure is reasonably accurate - i.e. if I run in 3rd, 4th and 5th my ATW will fall dramatically - but the overall figure will stay about the same. Your run would the equivalent of a 3rd gear run in my car.
Ideally we should set up a national shoot out for all the 'big' cars - would love to see you at one

Alan's car is indeed a UK but it's fitted with STi transmission.
I believe an STi 4th gear falls between a UK and an early Ra.
As you say Trout, the Ra 4th is similar to a UK 3rd.
Maybe you should run in 2nd for a decent ATW figure
ps I heard a wee rumour that your new turbo is a 'pee shooter' compared to Alans
pps Mod, can we rename this thread "North v South"

We'll just have to wait and see what Mr Garrod gets then!
This is turning far too serious - I might not keep my 2 litre crown for much longer!
Just happy I have my MD195 turbo...... (smaller than an MD309 )

Andy,
Is it not the same turbo?
Also don't understand the Sti transmission issue - the internals are the same as the UK car - check out the part no cross-ref
Steve,
had you going for a while tho. Will run a little more than 1.25bar tho
Uprated the actuator - using a wire coat hanger now

Andy,
and anyway - having spent most of my life in Edinburgh and Northumberland - and now moving to York after my stint in the soft South - I surely count as a Northerner

Andy,
they are in my car - four-door Sti - all the ratios are the same - the Sti has a lower final drive.
Rs and RAs are very different - much shorter.
At PE most the Rs and RAs are run in fifth to get an equivalent reading.

I think the 'community' is far too small..
I may run a tad more than 1.25 bar next time - once I've dusted down the 1.2 bar actuator thats been on the car for some time now (or could it be a different actuator....... )

Steve,
it's not the community - you posted what boost you were running earlier
I have a weedy 1.2 bar actuator and it is way not strong enough - will have to upgrade to something even stronger than a strong thing at the world strongest thing competition
6.30pm - yeah you are right - you should be tucked up in bed
Andy,
the gearbox info is based on having to check out parts for a rebuild on mine - needed the 3rd/4th assembly in the end - exactly the same as the UK car and picked up from a UK dealer and halved the cost by not having it in an Sti box. Ratios were identical as expected.

Wow - your car must be a 500 bhp monster......... I'm very impressed.... now answer that Conrod question if you have'nt already
Andy
Now that would weigh the suitcase down a bit - they'd probably xray the thing and think it was a bomb they are so paranoid over here................

I cant see how that figure of 305 hp atw can possibly be correct thats 227 KW atw for one the standard injectors would be struggling if not maxed out and also what turbo did it make that power with? We have stroked 2.2 engines running big turbos which cant put out that much at the wheel HP you sure it wasnt crankshaft power?
