Solictors can be good, but they can also ensure themselves an income. I am sure they is a masonic lodge for lawyers, and they have all agread to keep each other in work!

But seriously, sounds like you are making some progress, an amicable split is best for sure. I'm all for making sure you get what's yours, but not screwing people in to the ground for the sake of it.
