medders, just to clean up the mess I've started.
ok, it was a cheap shot at the radar gang, but I'm pissed because I've recently been caught twice for speeding. I've driven the same way for about 11 years and never been stopped. Funnily enough I've had a scoob for nearly a year now. I've been stopped numerous times for nothing followed home from the pub regularly. All because of the car I'm driving.
I'm pretty sure that had I been driving a Mondeo Estate at 52 in a 40 limit dual carridge way, I wouldn't have been stopped and certainly not done for it.
As for the police in general, it's easy to pick faults, what people fail to realise is that it is a **** hard job, that when done correctly, gets pretty much no appreciation.
I am a law abiding citizen and appreciate the job the police do for us. If they decided to pull a scoob over 5mins after it had been stolen from me, i'd be telling a different story.
Anyway, I'm rabbiting on a bit now so to summarise, I'm pissed cause I got caught

And now to get back to the thread at hand.....

Phoned the number and talked to Steven Cronin's dad. Steven Cronin is a big lad with cropped hair and nothing like the lad that hit me. He also drives a silver rover so it would seem the tw@t that hit me gave the name of someone else in S Queensferry, an address in S Queensferry and a S Queensferry number but none relate to him
If I was looking for someone I'd start with Mr Steve Cronin. OK it's not the guy, but there is a fair chance he will know him. If the tw@t has pre-planned this scenario, then you've no chance but it may be he came up with it at the time of the bump. If this is the case the I'd put money on it being a aquaintence on Mr Cronin.

good place to start looking if nothing else

Cool

and who knows, Steven Cronin might be a little cheesed off that someone he knows is giving out his name, and may be able to make a few suggestions....

Your quite right and that was my thinking too. Clearly he knows/knew Steven Cronin because he had to think of a name on the spot so obviously (and given that SC lives in SQ) he named someone he knew of. For that reason I told Steve's dad to ask him if he knows a dweeb with a P reg silver Vectra. His dad said (no joke), 'if he does, he'll tell you right after he's pounded him for using his name'

Either way it looks like this boy is going to end up getting prosecuted with something/kicked in/ or having to shell out money. I intend to make sure he doesn't get away with it........HE WILL PAY FOR MY PAINTWORK!!!!!!!

'I'm pissed cause I got caught'....at least he's honest

SB,

Drop me a mail with the details of the car and what he looked like - I'm in South Queensferry reasonably often and a colleague lives there, so we can both keep our eyes out for this tw@t

Sounds to me like this guy isn't insured. I might be wrong, but I think insurance companies ask if you are the registered keeper of the car. If the car hasn't been registered, as confirmed by the old bill, then any insurance he might think he has could be invalid. Just a thought.

As someone else said, it sounds like there's a very good chance that Steve Cronin knows the guy. Too much of a coincidence. Hope you find him.

If i had to pick a bogus name, "Steven Cronin" isn't the best bet, as there are only a dozen of 'em in the UK. He isn't even ex-directory!

Keep up the chase, if only to stop such fraudsters in the future.

Best of luck with this Saxo. I'd be tempted just to post the reg in the Scottish Section and let the boys look for him.
