Unhappy

I'm with spudgun on this...the classic Impreza was so sought after throughout most of its life that residuals were spectacular..every dealer I've been near since MY01 has several for sale...Motorpoint have them in stock for gods sake. I appreciate that some of the modified MY01 look less horrendous but I cant afford to buy a 20k+ car and then start lashing out more on aftermarket stuff just to modify the appearance.
Wonder if Subaru do a really big facelift how many MY01 owners would complain?

Have to say that I too have been struggling with the looks of the new car, although dynamically there is no doubting the improvements to chassis stiffness and interior quality. The couple of cars that I have test driven certainly handle better than my MY00.

Yesterday, I spent most of the day with Dave and Carolyn T-S and therefore had a good chance to look at their modified beasts. I have to say that you have got to see these cars in the flesh to believe how good they look. I am certainly convinced now. The Leda suspension transforms the car (and the ride is no firmer than my standard MY00) - sitting on 18" wheels it looks the dogs Bs and it felt as quick as my car (quicker through the corners, where the new car is more neutral). Once Dave have the Link ECU fitted I think he will be hunting down P1s with considerable success - if you don't believe me, go for a ride in Pete Croney's new car...

If you haven't seen the pictures, here is the link:

Cheers for the compliment Chris - if goddamn Photopoint was working you might be able to see them.

Bob said yesterday the first MY01 Link is about to arrive in the country...

Well i have just changed my sti5typeR for a brand new P1. The reason I have gone down this road is because there is no way I'll ever be getting the new shape. Its just so ugly despite cosmetic mods that can be purchased to make it look better.Anyway why fork out for a new car and then have to spend thousands in order to make it look half decent!

So i thought i'd buy one of the last P1s available and keep the thing for a good few years.
And as for the P1 being obsolete, get real!

Spudgun

No I'm not selling my car to someone else in the office

To all other old shape doubters

As others have said on here a nicely converted MY01 looks great. Side by side with a P1 my UK300 makes it look its age. Ive had nothing but nice comments on the look of the car.

When the STI turns up next year, I'm sure it will make the P1 look old hat. Those that think it wont might be looking like this when they cant keep up, even in their well sorted P1 or old STI

For those that still dont get it. Do as you do with an ugly woman

Jonathan

only possible way i would is with morrettes
here in US its $20k for a RS $25K for a WRX
i would much prefer a RS spend 4-5k on a turbo for it than on a wrx.....or P1's if they offered them here

from someoen on the i-club forums: "the new model looks like a dodge neon humped a hundai tiburon"(Sp) and came up with that....

i don't think the car has 'attitude' it looks like it has big bug eyes and is happy not aggressive

for me looks and engine/handling are important i don't want a car im gona cringe at everytime i step into my garge to drive it

Personally I have to agree with JazA. The DBM pic on page 1 looks v. cool. Headlight conversion and high level spoiler a must.

Car next to it looks pig ugly though.
