I take it you've all completed all four Gran Turismos? I'll have to dig it out to try those lap times

3 did take longest (even tho 2 had all those manufacturers races)

The latest one was *very* disappointing. < 10Hrs from start to finish.

I reckon the GT40 road car would do it - have to use gears (short-shifting to keep any kind of traction)

super_si - So far, for this challenge you have been using F1 and racing cars (when we said road cars only), as well as automatic gears and you can still "only just" beat us in the road cars. I dont think you are that much of a GT master as you made out are you now?

Had another go tonight with better tyres:

Tommy Kaira ZZII(J) - 1:11.855 - get in

Dont think anyone will do that time with a road car - the lap was inch perfect

oooh! (sharp intake of breath) legcayPete throws the gauntlet down again. Realised last night I haven't played with gear ratios yet - I tend to just use the auto close/wide slider at the bottom. Will play with actual ratios tonight hoping to beat the 1:10 mark. Tried with the Zonda but I hate it.

Zonda road car or Zonda race car?

well done tho!

My best time, Toyota GT-one road car, 1.11.191.

Ended up with the gear ratio's so close (6speed) that I used automatic and just "locked" the gears with the paddles.

(and yes, saved replay for it)

mid? come on, at this level (we are all pretty close) we need to be quoting the full time, including hundredths of a second.

(looks like I'll be setting up the ol wheel again tonight then!)

(interesting how we seem to have "favourites" with different power \ handling charactaristics yet end up with similar times, legacypete with the zonda, DW with the ZZII, and myself favouring the toyota.)

Right, enough talking, who's in the north west, not a million miles from manchester?

I think it's time we had a link up session, I can provide venue and two TV's, maybe three, so you'll need to bring your PS2, copy of GT3, and possibly a 14" TV.

We'll get in the beers n pizza, maybe watch a film (my main TV is suitably sized) then you are free to kip over.

Any takers?

My setup:

Lights out....

Curtains drawn.....

Yamaha Sub...on (click )

Aiwa Pro-Logic stack, about mid-volume, all GT music turned off, just sound effects.

Toshiba 43" rear projection set.

Logitech force feedback wheel (official GT3 wheel) and pedals, mounted on kids high chair (trust me, it's perfect) partnered with suitable seat.

I take my gaming pretty seriously

My PS1 setup was awesome, but I had to bin it when we built the office for my business.

I had a full height black cabinet, which housed TV, and small sound system linked up through Citronic SM150 mixer. Steering wheel was screwed into fold away platform that came out and stood on legs. Pedals were screwed into the base of the cabinet.

All complete with comfortable arm chair
