Surely it's better to give everything except the eyes than nothing at all?

If someone really doesn't want to give their eyes, and isn't given the option of an eye opt out, they will simply not become a donor at all.

Wink

I couldn't stand to see anyone else with my eyes either. But then luckily, I wouldn't be able to. BOOM BOOM!

I did. I'm simply stating that, regardless of how silly it sounds to you, many people don't want to donate their eyes. Therefore, there should be the option of not donating them.

Question

I never said there shouldn't be the option. I simply said that IMO it's daft to pick one part above and beyond others. Particularly when (as has already been stated)

1. They only use the retina in 99% of cases
2. The eye will be the first organ to rot if the body is buried
3. It makes absolutely no odds at all if the body is cremated.

Personally, I'm sure that my family would much rather see somebody else being given the ability to see at all in the event of my death, rather than them being able to see me in an open coffin with my own complete eyes.
