I've got a Seamaster just like the piccie. 30th Birthday pressie from the Missus to replace my old Tag Formula One. I love the look of the Seamaster and you get used to the size (I've got the "biggie" one). My brother's got the same watch with a black face (and bigger numbers on the bezel) - looks cool too.
I also think some of the retro Tag's look cool but they tend to be around the £1600 mark which may be above yiour budget.

My Rolex Sea Dweller is mechanical and automatic and waterproof to 4000 feet. Cost over 3 grand. Needs servicing every 3 years at even more expense. Best watch I've had by a big margin. Nuclear Bunker build quality (much better than the SuperOcean I had previously).
If you are one of those people can't see the point of owning one of these types of watches then you just don't GET IT do you, and you never will. Some people cannot understand people who spend loads on a car that has performance far in excess that needed on UK roads...we're all different.

I wonder if it really can go to 4000ft. Who knows, your hardly likely to find out :-)
If they sold a watch that was guaranteed to defend you against a Martian invasion I wonder if people would buy it ;-)
