You cannot *know* how much it will be worth in three years time, you can only go off "guides" which predicted, due to the badge, that they would not do well. Take a look on the forecourts \ private ads, the Mk2 Octavia is beating those figures - the waiting list on the RS fuels an extra demand also.

Yeah don't I know it
I'm waiting for them to come down in price so I can then seriously weigh up swapping the Scoob....but it's just not happening ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Gues the Westie and sensible car are gonna have to wait a little longer![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)

And ask Scoob owners what they thought their cars would be worth 3 years ago and what they're worth now.....
Does seem quite funny how many people are still prejudiced - you're getting a nicely made, cheap performance saloon.
Sounds like a Scoob except the nicely made bit

That is not bad depreciation at all.
If you think 2000 pounds hurts how do you think I felt having a £37,000 car worth £22,000 after 18 months. In my last 3 subarus I've lost over £30,000 in depreciation in 4 years.![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
I know you can't look at it as a 'complete' loss - it was money actually spent enjoying the car.
Go buy the skoda - it will make you happy.

You may be saying that now - but look at Volvo!!!!! they are not doing too bad at all!!!
Who knows what the markets will be in three years time, with the way that Skoda are coming along with their cars aided by VW/Audi they are going to be storming the performance market very soon!
I reckon that Skodas will hold their value more and more as time goes on!

If you go for a Skoda you've bought with your head rather than your heart....
Skoda is a crap badge... no street cred apart from with your dad and the blue rinse brigade... period!!
Tell a room full you've got a Skoda, and the old people will nod their heads in approval....
Tell a room full you've got a Scooby.... well, you know that part.
As it says in Luke Chapter 4:
"SKODA'S MAY BE GREAT CARS... THE LORD DID SAYETH UNTO JESUS... BUT THEY ARE STILL F**KING SKODA'S. NOW SCOOBS, DEY IST DA NUTS"
Heree endeth the lesson![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)

cheaper to run, cheaper to insure, won't get keyed by some jealous sod, won't get nicked, won't get carjacked, don't get frequent stopchecks, boyracers leave you alone (unless you taunt them
).
The impreza is a great car, but everyone now knows it.

JZA, didn't just buy with my heart, but with my wallet!
Look at my running costs earlier in the thread, running costs probably pretty close to a Justy, and it is just a tad quicker!
Sad to say that Max Power have caught on and their editor has bought one as a project car!![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Anyone wanna buy my Skoda?
1.4 16v
