The Great British Traffic Cop...Brow Beaten!
Or if your B*lls are big enough:
Officer: May I see your driver's licence?
Driver: I don't have one. I had it suspended when I got my 5th Ban.
Officer: May I see the log book for the vehicle?
Driver: It's not my car. I stole it.
Officer: The car is stolen?!
Driver: That;s right. But come to think of it, I think I saw the owners log book in the glovebox when I was putting my gun in there.
Officer: There's a gun in the glovebox?!!
Driver: Yes sir. That's where I put it after I shot and killed the
woman who owns this car and stuffed her in the boot.
Officer: There's a body in the trunk???!!!!!!!!
Driver: Yes sir.
Hearing this the officer immediately calls for "back up" and his
Sergeant. The car is quickly surrounded by police and the Sergeant
approaches the driver to handle the tense situation.
Sergeant: Sir, can I see your licence?
Driver: Yes. Here it is. (the licence is valid)
Sergeant: Who's car is this?
Driver: It's mine officer. Here's the log book.
Sergeant: Would you slowly open your glove box so I can see if there's a gun in it?
Driver: Yes sir, but there's no gun in it.
Sergeant: Would you mind opening your boot? I was told you said
there's a body in it.
Driver: No problem.
Sergeant: I don't understand it . The officer who stopped you said you told him you didn't have a licence, stole the car, had a gun in the glover box, and that there was a dead body in the boot.
Driver: Yes. I'll bet the lying b@stard. told you I was speeding too.

Undertaking is not illegal, per se. This was confirmed by several traffic officers on the UK Traffic Law list. If you're travelling at constant speed and the traffic in the outer lane slows down, you're not committing an offence to continue, even if you pass them on the inside.
The only thing they can do you for if you undertake, I'm told, is driving without due care.
Great story though!
