Ok, who's got a spare set of tyres/wheels with tyres they can lend me, I'm not wrecking the last set of S02's in the land for this

BTW, Anyone got insurance sorted for the day? I spoke to Egger Lawson earlier and if more than 5 people arrange cover through them then there's a discount available... costs 112 GBP for 5000 of cover with a 750 xs as a starting point...drop me a mail if you want the full price list!

helmets are required!
very grippy surface, very hard on tyres , but the lap cct is only one lap at a time, so not like a 20 min session. the area we are using looks small on the info sent out, but its not actually to scale, we have a vast concrete area to play with, totally flat.
the handling cct is being set up by a guy who runs tests/sprints etc and will hopefully be fun/tricky/biased towards handling!

if you dont want to do loads of top speed runs or drag, you can simply do a lap, exit the return road and get back in the queue for another. 10-4pm fr timed laps for trophies, open lapping 4-5pm for fun.

You could have stayed with us Puff if we had thought about it, and I could have blagged a lift with you and saved the planet. Now we'll have two scoobs going...can the trees survive the extra use of fuel?

At least we could have had some beers if nowt else

Still, next time we will know each other a bit better and ( if you dont instantly despise my standard green scoob with the required gold alloys and could bear to be near an un-modded engine bay ) we could sort it out.....

Cya there Sunday. Will "Aunty" be supplying you with sandwiches and a flask? I like cheese, and only one sugar in my tea.......

egger lawson call that a discounted rate? they are taking the ****! Their rates go up every week!! crazy.

Their admin sucks *** by the way! I got a call a week AFTER dono asking for my credit card number, i then get the docs in the post 2 weeks after the event, 3K under what i asked for and it had the wrong registration number and they spelt my name wrong by a mile, yet the invoice had the right name? about as sloppy as you could get IMHO! I am glad i didnt need to claim!

Is there anyone else offering track cover insurance?

John, I'm saving those tyres but I'm a little concearned about using them for a high speed run considering the state they were in

I have got 4 'just' legal S02's that I've been saving, but no spare 17 inch rims to put them on at the moment...although I have been offered a spare set (cheers Dan) that aren't all perfectly round

Re the insurance, that's the standard rate, the discount is 15% off that...I agree it's still expensive, but God forbid anything should happen on the top speed run, loose it there and writing off a car would be too easy 100 quid to give you 4k or so towards a new shell...

Incidentally if your wondering how big Elvington is check out:

Buzz

I blagged Elvington with the wife on the basis of staying with Auntie - big mistake Trying to work out of it

Already have one meet (Andy26) & am trying for another (Gregh) the night before

We're even taking two cars to Leeds from Cambs

BTW - nothing wrong with green its the gold wheels that may push it too far

You never know, you might need to clear a space for us

Thats still pretty small for a handling circuit! Top speed is going to be sub 100MPH i would think.

The solution to gold wheels is to let the brake dust cover them, working well on my STi7 so far and it seems to cover the back wheels as well as the front

Tim

I have some wheels and tyres you can borrow.. And you can kill the tyres if you want! (I just havent put the slicks on yet...)

Only if you bring me an up-pipe!

was that aimed at me Andrewza?? whats wrong with nice shiny gold wheels ....

I'll bring you the spare 15 inch ones Ive got with cheap nasty jap tyres on them and flaking gold paint so you can see they were silver, and MAKE you put them your car and take a picture :P

THAT'll teach ya!

Errr wasn't meant as a dig at anyone...I have very gold wheels on my car for daily use, 17 inch OZ Supertourismo Motorsports, in Group N Tarmac spec...hard as nails

Problem I have is that I run 4 pot brembo calipers and 300mm dia disks, this means 15's won't go on, and 16's need to be the UK MY98 style to fit!

forcast is light rain!

I was speaking to Gareth Lloyd last night. God help everyone! He is taking his race car Escort Cosworth, which is fully road legal! That thing is mindblowingly fast, he won the Formula saloons championship in that car, definately the fastest Escort Cossie ever built by a big margin.

Don't think any of the weather centres know what the weather is gonna do, different forecasts given by all of them - ranging from thunder & lightning/sunny patches....light rain.....dry and sunny.
Useless arent they

Hi,

Is anyone taking there bird/partner along, as i was thinking of coming up but the misses will have to come.....(under the thumb i know) just wondered if there would be anymore females for her to talk to....???? however, ive warned her that the conversation will probably still be about scoobs...

Also what should i be looking out for (a huge gathering of scoobs)

If you see a silver classic shape scoob with reg D5 DJH, 19" alloys and an STI 5 type spoiler drive by pip your horn....!!!!

Dan
