So far everyone has mentioned everything I hate in the music industry except T'Pau. Carol Decker couldn't sing live and was up her own ar$e when it came to the "meaning" of the songs.

Funniest thing ever was on one of the pop shows she was explaining the meaning of "China in your hand" and getting all deep and misty. Cut to the lead guiterist she was involved with "No idea what the song means, bunch of words strung together .... I remember we used to play music, we became known and then we started to play that stuff."

LMAO at that.

I to hate Slip Knot just becuase of their fan base, Korn are on the list for the same reason... saying that I saw a 30+ guy in Bristol wearing a Slip Knot t-shirt last night!

I met Bono on an Aer Lingus flight, he is very (very, very) short.

He was escorted on my to Aer Lingus staff and shown to his seat.

Promptly he starts complaining that he wasn't sitting on his own! I happened to be the other person sitting in the row and side he was with two empty seats when I sat down.

Then he wanted my seat (aisle) although his boarding car gave him the window seat and I had the aisle one.

Came out with the immortal line "Don't you know who I am?"

Fed up from travelling, a week of work and the two hour delay I responded with, "Annoying"

I stood up to let him in and towered above him, even though he had heels on his cowboy boots.

One of the Aer Lingus staff walked away shaking (I hope with laughter).

It was a very quiet flight back, me reading a book and him glowering at me and the window.

 

 

Foster & Allen - Every Christmas they bring out the same record in a different cover then advertise it on the telly for about 2 weeks. Who buys it? No idea, but I suspect it's 4-year olds to give to their dear old granny.

I really do have a very broad taste in music but get so annoyed with the purile tosh that the record companies put out year after year.. all this Pop Idol and Popstars telly just really shows what a mass-produced shower most of them are... All these big fat w4nkers like Pete Waterman sit there rolling in it having produced huge loads of bilge for years.... its totally screwed !!

Duran Duran? I beg to differ. Slightly kitsch, admittedly, but listen to their 'Greatest' album in the car whilst having a blast, and I think you'll realise how good some of their tracks are.

 

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt with Duran Duran, but I'm sticking to my guns with the rest of 'em

Deacon Blue, and Nick Kerr (Simple Minds) are loathesome too.

Any band that creates obviously trendy songs based around drug or alcohol use (Chumbawumba "I get up again", and that annoying "I got high" song from that black guy recently) I can just seen teenagers thinking they're so cool to sing the lyrics too.
